And Derek Carr is just terrible.

At 24-23 and Kansas miss a field goal then get a penalty call and a first down. I mean you never see this called. Instead they get a touchdown.
Carr hasn't been great but he has put on 23 points so far. Oatlands defense on 3rd downs woefull. Should be 10 points off Kansas score with what's been dished up.

Our defence is dreadful.

But with the chance to drive us back into the lead, Derek Carr is throwing it to the back of people's heads, deliberately throwing the ball away, missing his targets...

He is so, so bad.

Carrs problem is sometimes there is space and he barely ever runs.

My biggest issue with him - his instincts are dreadful.

His feel for the game is far from elite.

Look at Mahomes - he was able to drive the Chiefs right back into the game.

Carr, I feel, cannot be trusted to lead a drive to a win.

That was a nice pass, though.

The Raiders organisation is just stupid, from top, to bottom

Four minutes left in the game - "hey, I know - let's go for a 2-point conversion!"

Instead of trying the game up, we are down by 1 with 3 minutes left...

Stupidity at its finest... Smh

I'll never understand why Raiders fans love Carr so much...

So he has 30 game-winning, comeback drives in the 4th quarter in his career - tied for most since 2014 with Matthew Stafford?

He's been in the league for 9 years! That's 3 drives per year - hardly impressive...

It was an odd decision but I also didn't mind it.
Today was a game of inches. The 2nd last play iffeet are in most likely they end up witha field goal shot to win it.
The penalty on the missed field goal by Kanas turned into a touchdown 7 points there.
The 2 point conversion misses by an inch.

These small details count. The other was face mask just before halftime with 17 second they let them get a field goal.
10 Points where given up on stupid plays.
Can bag to offence but they did out up enough to win.

Sure but how many chances do they get in 16 games to have a final drive win?

I think Carr is solid. Not great. I think they could easily be 5-0 this year and have lost 4 games by one score.
They are 2-3 players short of a superbowl roster imo.

One of them would be a decent QB. Carr is rubbish.

But more importantly, our defence (in particular, our secondary) is awful, and needs work.

I'm surprised by Phillies form. I am surprised by Jalen Hurts. He went pick 53. He is maybe the best ball running QB in comp or atleast top 3. And his pass games gone up a level.

Still a lot to learn but I genuinely thought he would be flushed out of the system by end of this season. A good runner with a poor pass. But the amount of improvements been dramatic. And only 24. If he continues he will be a top 5 QB.

Funn how everyone rated last years QB draft as best ever. Lawrence looks shaky, So does Fields. Its early days but Hurts,Burrows, Herbert all look like better prospects.

you had that won if only your 2 receivers didn't run into each other on the final play. also agree that 2 pt attempt was a bit optimistic

I didn't like it cause the play cause even if you did get the 2 it then means that Kansas are playing 4th downs. And I'd back Mahomes to get within field goal if using 4 plays every day of the week against your defense at their home ground. If tied the game up Kansas most likely would punt in 4th down and back defense so you still get chance to get a field goal to win it.

I guess they wanted to back their defense which is odd. They barely stopped them using 3 plays for I think 5 drives straight scoring a touchdown 4 times and field goal once.

In saying that the last play they had two wide outs that broke free and beat coverage and Carr spotted and aired it out. It was a touchdown gone begging. They ran into each other.

I agree totally.

I hate Carr, but he didn't cost us the win - our inept defence, and our bone-headed receivers cost us.

But fancy backing the Raiders defence to win you a game - that is lunacy.

Seasons cooked now id say. Should of won today. I dot think think you are far off being very competitive and a top side. Problem is the aren't getting top 10 draft picks either. Amd when they did the u wasted a lot.

From memory I thought they do stuff like the 2 point call to create mental pressure, which helps lead to mistakes. In the end it only created pressure on themselves. I guess you’d also expect that type of gamble from a Las Vegas team haha

I think we are a few years off being competitive; today's 2-point play highlighted we have some very, very dumb coaches in charge.

We have some talent in the squad - Maxx Crosby is a weapon, as is Josh Jacobs; Davante Adams goes ok, and Carr is so-so.

But our secondary is atrocious, and we can't stop the run.

We have big problems at the moment, and I'm not sure there are signs of improvement any time soon.

I'd say ordinarily, it might work.

But Patrick Mahomes isn't one to succumb to pressure - he's a freak.

I reckon it was a dumb call.

We would have been better off tying the game up, and then trying for an onside kick.
