trey had the skill set ceiling but not the reps in college to make him improve and consistent. we gave him the gig last year and he was ordinary and then injured. he needs game time to become elite and we don't have the time anymore. enter big cock brock and u know the rest. he could've stayed as a project but he wanted opportunity so he went to the cows to become their 3rd string qb. doesn't make sense but i guess hes backing himself

@jk13 what are your thoughts on the Bosa holdout?
This prick's going to screw up our salary cap, ffs!
Got to pay him and we did. 170 with 122 guaranteed. Cap will continue to go up as the next elite one up will surpass it, maybe Myles Garrett. It’s just how this works, the next elite guy always resets the market

Some commentators are calling it the biggest draft bust in history

He didn't even go no 1. Guys like Darnold,Wentz and forget his name but Jacksonsvilles QB pick a few years back all busts.
Majority of QBs are busts. Most the good ones are picked outside the top 10.

But it's the bounty they gave up to go get him.

Wentz, darnold, and bottles all played a good amount of games in this league. Shit wentz was an acl off being mvp.

I'd like to see a list of QBs currently and where picked.

Lamar, Prescott, Mahomes(10th) Rodgers, Purdy, Wilson, Cousins, Hurts,Deshaun Watson are some of the better QBs and look where picked. I'd say another 10 average ones who start are from outside the top 10 as well.

Sure but Foles took it up a notch. Does Phili win the superb owl with Wentz? Nick Foles was dynamite and showed it was a great side.

Will be fine for a year or two, but at some stage we are going to have to offload players to fit it in. Luckily we have a QB on a very small deal at the moment which helps a lot, but won't be like that forever.

I'm just hoping this doesn't set us back in the long term. It's a lot of money and he ain't a quarterback.

Teams spent one pick on those players.
It picking those players didn't hurt their draft capital for years after. They got picked, didn't work out, move on.

Niners traded 2 future first round picks and a 3rd round pick to move up and pick Lance. In hindsight that's a horrible decision. Sure he had some bad luck with injuries, but it just seems he isn't the player that they thought he was.

The Bears trading up one spot (from 3rd to 2nd) to get Mitch Trubisky seemed bad at the time, but they gave up 1 first, two thirds and a fourth to get him. Nowhere near as bad as the San Francisco decision.

Maybe they do win with him. Maybe they don't. We will never know.
One thing is for sure though, Wentz was f**ken ballin' that year. Man he fell off a cliff, didn't he.

maybe. but it didn't leave the team in disarray. we took a wild swing and failed, but when we went back to the dugout we found ourselves surrounded by multiple all-pros. if brock stumbles this year, then definitely the worse ever.

also i think this is the first 1st rounder we've resigned under shanny. we've f**ked many 1st rounders over the last few years its almost pointless having them. plus our 1st round giveaways are usually late 1st so almost 2nd rounders anyway. thank god we know how to pick 2 - 7 rounders - warner, deebo, kittle, huf, greenlaw etc..

can't forget. hes on the jets now and looks pretty jacked. saleh must've felt guilty. to me this is a bigger draft bust, picking him over mahommes. insane

Jamal Adams, Christian McCaffery, Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, TJ Watt, Dalton Cook, Cooper Kupp…

the list goes on. All players we could have picked over Thomas.
