Sensational that another 40 000 are attending.
Clearly, people are very scared to attend, as Rebecca keeps claiming. So much danger. So many families not wanting to go.

As for the game....
Pressure is on both teams.
As always, it should be a cracker.

The flare thing wouldn't stop me going to a game by myself (hell, I've been to see Millwall in the late 90s). But it might deter me from taking my non-existent kids if I wasn't confident that the flares would be isolated to an area where my seats weren't going to b. But then again, I'd probably not care.

Non-existent kids are the best type of kids. Mrs Gutful and I have a few of those.

I actually reckon it's likely that there'll be a very large cross-over with the 40,000 that attended the last derby match?

It's a bit strange to claim another 40,000 people are attending, if they're mostly the same people and members? :sarcasm:

So Hibs beat the Jam Tarts in a cup match the other night which naturally was occasion enough for a rendition of Sunshine On Leith.

Stirring stiff. No flares, even.
Now that's atmosphere! No pyros, tifos, capos or riot police required.

Given the Eels v Panthers trial is also only being broadcast on Fox Sports, it will be interesting to see which "Sydney derby" wins the ratings... :sarcasm

Telegraph are backing the Eels-Panthers derby to register more interest than the A-League version: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...s/news-story/ae2d8296a40087c55a79c2e13289feb7

The grudge match could even outrate the Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers A-League derby on the same night at Allianz Stadium.

Eels acting boss John Boulous told The Daily Telegraph last night: “This is great news for Eels members and fans across Australia, especially as we build up to our season-opener at Pirtek Stadium on March 3. Well done to the NRL and Fox Sports for taking the initiative on expanding league coverage for rugby league fans in 2016.’’

As reported in yesterday’s The Daily Telegraph, Penrith and Parramatta were understood to be two clubs keen to stream their trial live online if given the green light by the NRL.

After all clubs were initially told by NRL head of football Todd Greenberg that streaming trials would not be allowed because of “broadcasting obligations’’, the NRL has since revisited the matter and hope to work with Nine, Fox Sports and Telstra — who hold the digital rights — to reach an outcome before the trials start.

League fans will welcome the extra February footy fix. The gates will be thrown open to all Panthers’ members.

Fox Sports felt there was enough interest in the Eels-Panthers clash, especially with the arrival of Foran.
No approval for official live streaming, unfortuantely?

Is it just me or is there one side trying to win by acoring goals and another who are more concerned about faking injury to get set plays.

Now seven straight derbies without a Wanderers win... that's getting toward State of Origin Maroon level dominance!

At least no crowd misbehaviour (flares, detonators, fights, threats/abuse) has come to light this time.
