He's certainly worth a run in the ODIs. A bit awkward against spin on slow tracks, but that's just experience.
Yep, I might be a little biased because I know his family but I rate him a more superior player to Burns. He just needs more of a chance to show what he an do: I hope they don't pigeon hole him a 20/20 slogger because he's much better then that.

That's fair comment. I suspect Burns will struggle in NZ.....his bat comes down at an awkward angle that will feed the slips if Southee gets it right in their conditions.

Forgetting his slogging, Lynn can drive balls at waist height as well as anyone I've seen other than Gilly (and I'm biased, coz Gilly put me into the stands several times as a teenager).

Southee worked Burns out here on our flat decks, he'll struggle big time over the ditch I reckon.

Not a good batting technique for an opener.

Prefer Lynn to Finch in the ODIs, he's living off his semi final effort in the WC

He nearly cost us that game IMO, 81 of nearly 120 balls when everyone else was striking well over 100. Finch is fine on roads as soon as it moves a millimetre sideways he has absolutely nothing. Massive front foot flat track bully.

I haven't seen much of Lynn live except for this big wank.

He is pretty strong on the straight but if he is gonna play test cricket and to a lesser extent ODIs, he needs to score around the ground and not just on the straight hits.

Oozie may stand in his way tho as he is obviously next in the pecking order, be interesting to see how he goes while Warner is on parental leave, hopefully he does well and Warner replaces Finch.

If Lynn is good enough he can fit in there some where as there are a few spots for mine. Sean Marsh's for one.

Very surprised to see him in the squad especially at his pace. From what I have seen he is an average swing bowler yet he was picked as a seamer according to cricket.com.

Just shows how many injuries we have atm, we're down to 3rd string bowlers and that includes Siddle still in the team.

Good on him for getting into the squad but he'll be the 5th bowler and probabaly wont even get to carry the drinks. Bird will probabaly be 12th man with Haze, Pattinson and Sids being the bowlers.

Yeh, I don't think he'll play. But I guess NZ is somewhere where he might do well. Haven't bothered looking to see at which grounds we are playing them. His best chance is if there's a game on a pitch that's under-prepared due to rain.

A guy who might be interesting in a couple of years is Jhye Richardson (yep, straight from the Bogan Dictionary of Baby Names), naturally pretty quick and will get quicker if he can put on a stone or so.

We really do need some pace.

Have a look at these plodders bowling on the highway at Manuka. Like Tubby just said, even if the pitch is flat at 145ks you can get a bit of reverse and put pressure on the batsmen.

This pitch is worse than the WACA was and at 130 ks these pie chuckers are just cannon fodder.

Got me f**ked as to why we ditched Paris, he had a bit of pace and bounce and so tall yet we ditch him and keep Boland.

Manuka has been a road for quite a while now. Because of the 70 days a year of frost, the grass doesn't really start growing till late Sept / early October. Combine that with an outfield the size of the MCG and it really is a pain in the arse for bowlers. They really need a drop-in.
