Now that was a good win, shame the Indians dont favour the DRS

I absolutely LOVE it when the Indians get screwed over by their choice not to use DRS!!!!

Was a good game though, especially when we went 2 down early. The best part was they just kept the board ticking over without trying to smash us to victory. Very well played by Bailey and Smith!

Yes, their stated logic for opposing it is ridiculous. Yep, it isn't perfect, but it does lead to a greater number of reasonable decisions being made. Their unstated reason (the method by which their top order batsmen play spin) probably has as little more behind it....partic when playing on the subcontinent.

Are the Indians the only country in the world who oppose it?
If so, they should be forced to use it.

India captain MS Dhoni believes his side are getting the raw end of the deal from umpires as payback for the team's ongoing refusal to use the Decision Review System.

The powerful Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are continuing to block the use of DRS in any games involving India - and it's starting to hurt.

It's all a conspiracy against the poor unfortunate poor Indian team. If only they had money and sway like Australia or England they would get a much better deal.

lol@india.

What is it about the system that everyone else is satisfied with but India refuse to be a part of?
They can't fix games?

I think you've hit the nail on the head. (Pretty handy skill for a builder.)

It's sad really.
It still astounds me that India has so much clout over the governing of world cricket these days. The days of innocence - the 70's and before, are long gone. Cricket has lost its soul, and it is quite sad.
However, the kids of today clearly love what's on offer these days.
I might be becoming an old fart, but I'm sad that the traditions are slowly fading in turn for the almighty dollar and commercialism.
Oh well, the kids of today, with short attention spans, will love the hype of the new game, and will flock to stadiums to see bash cricket.
Test cricket will survive. But it has lost its stature sadly. IMO.

Suity

PS. I think I've hit a real nail on the head a few times in my life. The rest of the time, it was my thumb copping the battering.
Thank god for nail guns.

TBH i think im getting like the kiddies as i get older ... attention span is waning and dont like tests unless they have some action. Thankfully tests have improved on the "play for a draw" era

My favourite Test in recent memory was the day-night Test with the pink ball - it offered the bowlers plenty, and made batsmen work for their runs.

Well said Suity. I agree.

Also agree with this. Sadly, I dont think it is just the kiddies. There are a lot more impatient, short attention span merkins these days. Add me to that list as well.

.

It certainly is. From the Indian's perspective, they see it as having been pushed around and treated like inferiors for years by the old colonial power(s), and see little reason not to exercise their current influence. Doesn't make it right, but puts it in a little context. Part of a broader Hindi nationalism (often seemingly used to a smokescreen for all sorts of practices)

The most shocking part of the new match fixing story is that the South African twenty twenty cop is called the Ram Slam.
