I thought I would start a cricket chat thread in amongst all the doom and gloom SGI threads.
I am looking forward to this world cup and ashes series coming up, should be very interesting.
The WC is pretty open with a bunch of teams capable of winning the cup. I'd love for the poms to fall apart under the pressure.
Anyway, lots to talk about, especially with the Smith and Warner returns.
Go Aussies.

Fair enough Crush.
Any excuse to pour scorn on the old enemy.

It will be good having Warner & Smith back, just to p!ss the Pommys off, if nothing else.
I do hope they can start this campaign off with a little bit of sandpaper and ball tampering just for old times sake.

Let's face it, the Pommys are experts at cheating and ball tampering so our boys will need to be on their game to mess with the ball without them catching on.

Can't wait for Broke Me Hand Dad, He Drives Fast Cars, Sleezy Winebars & Peanut Butter Jars, they should all star for their respected countries, Pakistan and the West Indies.

It all augers well to a good World Cup.
I'll return you now back to the Central Commentary position.

Yeah I'd love to see warner and smith make a million runs each and just keep raising the bat as they score centuries.
They'll be booed all series over there but by the time they come home people will have moved on and home crowds will be right behind them.

We're a chance to win this thing. I just hope that Stoinis and Carey don't screw us. Would have loved to have seen Handscomb behind the stumps and batting at 7.

Maybe I'm out of touch but I feel like we are a bit light on specialist batsmen.
After 4 we are into allrounders. I'd like to see a specialist at 5 then Maxy.
Not sold on Stoinis either.

Yep, although S.Marsh is decent at 5. Could have been Turner.
Handscomb at 7.

Warner
Finch
Khawaja
Smith
S.Marsh
Maxwell
Handscomb (wk)
Coulter-Nile/Richardson
Cummins
Starc
Zampa

Handscomb can’t keep effectively at club level, so he’d be equally useless over the duration of a World Cup.

Speaking of cheating, has anyone else noticed The Faf still applies condiments and saliva on the ball?

I think Ben Stokes catch was the best outfield catch I have ever seen.
I cannot remember a better one, absolute screamer.

Definitely not an S. Waugh fan but that catch he competed at the MCG during an ODI where he ran full tilt towards the sightscreen circa 1994 remains the one to beat.

Cmon mate, look at the athleticism of Stokes catch. S. Waugh catch was a beauty because he navigated past the screen but thats all.
B. Stokes catch all day over S.Waugh.
