Cmon bro. Sydney and most Australian Capital cities has the most unaffordable housing prices in the world. Sydney is either second or third in the world behind Hong Kong- a city in which there's zero space to swing a cat.
It's all government manipulation as to squeeze every last drop out of future generations as to benefit themselves, and the mega rich. Government scammers.

They just haven't thought the policy through and it is now coming back to bite them. The same would have happened to the other side of politics, although to a lesser extent because they would have cut immigration and that would have been just as bad for the economy without the immigration.

This is not unique to Sydney or indeed Australia. Housing affordability in popular OECD capitals is expensive and they too have low vacancy rates.

• Zoning Reforms: It is happening, but people are going to have to STFU when the concrete jungle encroaches upon their little bit of paradise.

Merkins who leave their properties empty or for Air BNB need to pony up or face a potential Byron Bay situation where short term rentals are all but banned.

Heritage IS taken seriously in that area too. Ask the dodgy merkin who bought the site next to the Annandale Hotel. He "accidentally" knocked it down and was fined $1M and had his development approval withdrawn.

I'm not sure we'll end up in another world war, ever. More like things with smaller "coalitions" like Iraq etc.

Just look at the hesitancy of countries to join (or stay involved in) the Vietnam War, Afghanistan etc, marches for peace/against war etc, and - rightly or wrongly - it's clear public sentiment in the modern age is pretty much against countries joining in en masse for wars being fought in far away lands.
