Yeah well, I was campaigning for action on climate change in the 40s and Attenborough told me it was "f**ken bullshit".

Fun fact, up to the early seventies climate change was more about global cooling due to the amount of aerosols we were pumping into the atmosphere.

We cleaned up our act on that, and look what f**king went and happened.

Net zero won’t be achieved in inner city wine bars: Morrison

As Scott Morrison gradually pivots his climate policy towards embracing a target of net zero emissions by 2050, he is seeking to distinguish the government from “inner city” types and political opponents who’ve been marching down that road for a long time.

The Prime Minister told a Business Council of Australia dinner on Monday the government was charting its own course “to ensure Australia is well placed to prosper through the great energy transition of our time, consistent with strong action on climate change”.

“The key to meeting our climate change ambitions is commercialisation of low emissions technology,” he said.

“We are going to meet our ambitions with the smartest minds, the best technology and the animal spirits of capitalism.”

They should probably start with an energy policy, then work there way from there.

Mind you it'd be a brave PM to put an actual well thought out energy policy to his or her party room.

Doesn't seem to be all that great for ones career prospects.

Given where the speech was made, and that the audience has basically already embraced the idea that they will be the drivers of change, at their own pace, he's confirming the status quo as his position.

It's an indirect pitch for support come election time, keep doing what you're doing, and we'll not be getting in the way like the other mob. Donate at emptysuit.com.au

Morrison spoke at #21 out of 27 countries at the climate summit. Yes, he tried on his spin @ world leaders.

All well and good to annouce shit. Easiest thing in the world to do.

Usually old Empty Suit , is great at announcements, yet on this occasion he couldn't even bring that.

Most of the world has moved on from the climate wars, we risk becoming a global backwater or worse a pariah.

At best we'll simply miss out on the opportunities that global change presents.

I wasn’t referring to ScoMo.
