Plus that $50m for weapons for Ukraine, better spent on helping our flooded communities recover. Probably need at least a few billion, but every dollar counts for the displaced etc.

It sounds a bit like our own version of New Orleans. Maybe the Cubans will send us aid packages as well.

Do you find it interesting that Australia extends it's research into our Pacific neighbours universities ?

Foreign aid takes many forms. We don't have study facilities on PNG soil because we need to. Of late we have been doing it to stop the Chinese cutting our grass.

Do we carry out stuff that we would be extremely concerned about china finding if they got into our pacific nations? .... if so, what is it? And is it concerning that would be the case?

Because it got outlawed in the USA. Probably smoke n mirrors to make it look like yanks are the goodies. Do the dirty work elsewhere, let them be the risk takers and lackies while you pour in the cash and use the results for your own benefit.

Who even knows whats going on in the facilities? ... im sure they are just figuring out the best ingredients for lawndry powder and they dont want the russians to have really clean clothes too.

The concern is the yanks let it slip that it would be very concerning if russia got its hands on whatever it is. So makes you wonder what it is.

Most articles I've read seem to suggest Russia are exaggerating this to get their own people on board for the invasion. China for some reason along with Syria and Iran have decided to echo it. Unsure what's true but USA basicaly say they are not hidden and listed on their websites. Its just Russia twisting the story.

It’s more posturing, fake news and all the rest.

I’ve lost count of the number of lies to date.

The only truth is that innocent civilians are getting killed and injured.

You don’t really want to offshore any filthy chemical labs. Very risky. Even having nukes offshore is very dangerous. A lot of work has gone into that issue. Mistakes, madness and accidents happen.

Yeah it might be exagerated - I dunno .... but if there is nothing scary, then why are the yanks so concerned russia will get their hands on what is in there? This statement is directly from the yank woman in authority, its not made up. She said it.

The chances of the USA having some kind of effective germ warfare lab in the Ukraine is laughable.

The ruskies have more than enough weapons to destroy Ukraine and for that matter, the west many times over.

At any rate, they probably have more chemical weapons on hand than a rancid meth dealer.

That was reported, the ukkies were considering some concessions.

But no confirmation.

If we get through it without ww3 there will be a resolution at some stage. Then if there is a breakthrough, it’s counting the cost.

The ukkies persist with no fly zone requests, they’ve been told a million times, the matter is too sensitive for that course.

When it is resolved, there is the question of the afterglow of sanctions and how long they will last and long term changes in the world economy.

The personal sanctions may hit the Russians pretty hard, transport and travel bans. Less understandings amongst people in the future.

Mostly the ordinary world citizen gets nailed I think.

The family in the Middle East watching the price of foodstuffs skyrocket at the moment. Cutting down on basics from an already low base.

When you go to the supermarket, the brands compete and pay Woolies etc for where their product lives on the shelf.

Yep.

I don’t think Putin is trying to raise all civilian targets to the ground, but there are always accidents, miscalculations, incompetence, bad tech and the odd rogue commander.

They have apparently hit a maternity hospital and have killed mums, people needing treatment ( inc kids) are can’t get it in many places.

As for who is winning the war, who is right and wrong, who cares when innocent people are being killed.

All the parties should stop the f**king war and talk.


It’s not rocket science, but the alternative is.

The courage of her convictions, I salute her.

We asked Aunty and Uncle how they were going in Ballina and they sent us a picture from the boat they were being evacuated in.

That’s the Australian touch of irony.

I will get the photo from my sister and post it up.

It would be good pr propaganda for the Chinese or Russians to offer the beleaguered region extra cash.

The people in these areas need a lot of help.

And it’s going to be needed for many years.
