Jeffrey Epstein was a much liked maths teacher once. What's your point ?
That he must be a highly effective relationship manager if he came play on both teams like that. It's the NRL equivalent of Gus Gould coaching the Maroons.

It's looking grim.

I reckon the fall out and reflection from the world will be highly regrettable. However we live in a functioning democracy and I will respect the vote.

People usually say "no" to things when there is a lack of information.

People in charge should be less outraged about it potentially being a "no" and look at how they can better communicate the "yes" vote. I have no doubt that if the leaders responsible did a better job of communicating the "yes" message it would be successful. At this point its looking like a white wash in favour of the "No" vote.

The people in charge have no one else to blame apart from themselves.

Disagree with the bold agree though they coulda done a better job.

Scare campaigns are far easier than nuanced debate, and clearly a lot more effective.

The Yes vote have certainly failed to get the message across however the No vote side have excelled in ensuring that confusion remains front and centre. So to suggest that the yes campaign have no one else to blame apart from themselves, would be correct if the LNP and its media allies were not engaging in a constant game of misinformation.

Constructive criticism is not difficult to deal with, however the lies are hard to keep up with.

Tony Abbott, in just the past two days has referred to the YES votes as “damaging the constitution” “a House of Lords overseer to our parliament” that “each piece of legislation will end up in the High Court” if the voice advice is not followed.

Today he said the constitution should be colourblind.

This is from the guy who promised in 2013 to enshrine the indigenous people in the constitution as this first thing he’ll do if elected.

Ive said before, this is not about the indigenous people or the constitution, they don’t give a rats. They just want a win vs labor. Well good luck with that cos ^^^^^ whilst the NO vote is climbing, the approval rating for Dutton and the 2PP is diving. Good luck with the fall out.

I cannot disagree with anything you have said here, but at the same time, Albanese and the Yes campaign have just let the No campaign walk all over them. It has been so sad to watch unfold, as this Referendum only has good intentions for the indigenous community.
The Yes team need to get into the media pronto and spend every last minute arguing their case for the good.
You can say all you like about 2PP and Dutton's falling approval ratings and what might happen down the track. The fact is, he has been far more effective with his scare (note: deceitful and lies) campaign than Albanese has been in selling the Yes vote.
It saddens me that we are seeing hundreds of millions of $$ being pissed down the drain on this, and if anything, we will have gone backwards as a country when this is all over. That is, if the No vote wins, which appears inevitable at this stage.
It really is sad that after 2 and a half centuries, we still can't get this shit right.

Well what is it then ? The people can change the government by vote.

It depends on your definition of democracy.

I don’t see the Labor party as especially reformist. I don’t see any genuine re-distribution of wealth or resources across society.

I don’t see young people being able to afford to buy houses, the middle class continues to contract, I don’t see people having more power in their lives.

Society isn’t functioning as well as it could.

Profits continue to grow for big corporations and executives continue to get unjust salary increases.

Democracy is a concept that should deliver more freedoms. That’s not happening.

So I guess we have to endure a triumphant opposition, hard right and hard left.

Creepy media people like Karl and Bolty telling us the broad wokey left is dead in this country and the unelectable Dutto is the man for the next election. Pfft, ffs.

Yonder here, we will be in a free for all about who is to blame for this probable impending debacle.

The usual suspects and perhaps the well intentioned government members who failed to “read the room” in terms of rising interest rates, skyrocketing inflation and other pressures. Most people feel worse off than a couple of years ago and many are probably inclined to give voice to that by denying it.

Which is irrational.

The timing isn’t very good and for the most part, the yes celebs and other thought leaders haven’t quite captured the hearts and minds of the nation.

Im afraid these champagne socialists will have to reconsider their over-inflated view of themselves as we will have to suffer the over inflated ego of the hard right media terrorists.

This is sweet revenge for the right, delivered on a platter!

My colleagues in Wa, they hate it, but they want to secede anyway.

Those are some of my thoughts on the matter at the moment. More than happy if anyone disagrees.

As the worm turns against the voice, the more attractive it becomes.

It’s not my definition. It’s literally

Democracy is a system of government in which laws, policies, leadership, and major undertakings of a state or other polity are directly or indirectly decided by the “people,”.
No, democracy is a subjective term.

I will explain soon, but I’m leaving work and fuel gauge is showing almost empty.
