All of those things would've have occurred, with or without a National apology.

Your first point on the unquantifiable steps towards healing, does not improve the everyday lives of the most disadvantaged Indigenous.
on the flip side, most of the scare campaign about making an apology that were given during Howard's reign never came to be

Anyone want to take a bet there will be an escalation in local related Israel issues here in Australia come Sunday to take the front page focus off Albo and his abject failure
I imagine most pro-palestine supporters are waiting on the referendum result to determine if they will vandalise a synagogue on Sunday

Well then your grasp of mental health concepts is quite poor.

I think you need to find out how deeply the stolen generations impacted the first nations people. How the butterfly effect rippled through communities and tore them apart. How it perpetuated mistrust with authority.

It started the healing process. More steps need to be taken. #yes

Between 1910 and 1970 thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were forcibly removed from their families and communities by churches, welfare organisations and governments. The exact number is not known. However, is estimated that, anywhere from 1 in 10 to 1 in 3 Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their families and fostered or adopted by non-Indigenous families or raised in institutions. These children are known as the Stolen Generations. Many experienced neglect, physical and sexual abuse and exploitative labour, and were denied contact with their families.

I think you're reading it upside down and inside out. News Ltd, Nine Newspapers / Entertainment and Seven West Media will be hammering Albo on Sunday as Dutton calls for his resignation.

Having said that if people think that Dutton will come out of this with admirers, then this week's polls suggest otherwise. His grip is slipping.

Resolve Poll: Labor 57 LNP 43
Preferred PM Albo 47 Dutton 25

The scary thing for Labor is that both Abbott and Morrison started from a much lower base in the opinion polls and both turned that around within less than a year on both occasions. Abbott may not have won Government, but reduced Labor to minority.

I don't think Dutton will be PM at the next Federal Election though.

The departure of McGowan (and even ScoMo) in WA has virtually assured Labor will at best be a minority government from 2025.

The media and AU government are being very one sided in this part 5,433 of the middle east conflict. Pro Israel protests are OK however pro Palestine protests are banned.

After all the argy bargy, a terrorist group did terrorism stuff and that is not OK. However the slash and burn reflex of Gaza which is like the size of Singapore is disproportionate. Hamas are not an official representatives of the Palestinian people (they are hot head sociopath terrorists FFS), yet Gaza is rubble, tens of thousands are dead and “the Holy Land” is being very old testament right now.

The blue and white Dover Heights gatho yesterday out my way sighted the “killing of innocent people” as abhorrent. Yes it is.

HAMAS are in charge of running the Gaza strip.

HAMAS attacked Israel

Palestine has a PM and President in the West Bank if they were concerned about their people in the Gaza strip prior to these attacks why have they not been doing anything about it?

Did twitter and also these other platforms just get invented 5 days ago?

I think you'll find that Hamas, the mad merkin terrorist group, seized control from Fatah in Gaza. There were elections but Hamas said nah f**k that and took their HQ anyway.

So, they are not exactly Parramatta City Council over there in Gaza and the President / PM that you speak of are in fact Fatah. So Hamas are hardly going to call them up and tell them their plans.

If anyone can understand what this woman is going on about, please tell me.

She has been yelling and swearing for months that she is dead against everything about the voice, now she actually wants it to happen, as legislation.

She has decided that she doesn't want it as a constitutional amendment because its white people pandering or "window dressing" as she puts it.

Well Like I said why aren't the People kicking up a stink about Hamas taking over Gaza and causing more problems first?

I dont expect Hams to be co-ordinating with the PM but the PM should be telling the world about his people being held captive by Isreal...

Well like wars in Africa, some things make the western news and some things don't.

Hamas-Fatah conflict – Dutch Foreign Minister comments – Dutch Foreign Ministry press release/Non-UN document

Verhagen worried about surge in Palestinian violence
13 Jun 2007 | Foreign minister Maxime Verhagen expressed great concern while visiting Ramallah on 13 June about new developments relating to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Violence between Palestinian governing parties Fatah and Hamas has mounted in the Gaza Strip during the minister’s trip to the Middle East. ‘The outbreaks of fighting between Hamas and Fatah are not in the interests of the Palestinian people and are leading to a worse impasse in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict’, said Verhagen. ‘A breakthrough in the peace process is badly needed. Now is the time to support moderate Palestinians.’

He added, ‘When I talk to President Abbas today in Ramallah I will urge a speedy end to the violence and confidence-building measures aimed at Israel.’ The Dutch foreign minister spoke Tuesday with Israeli foreign minister Tzipi Livni and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, saying afterwards that the Israelis are willing to work towards a solution to the conflict and take concrete steps in that direction.

So Palestain has been fighting between itself? Hamas takes over the Gaza strip?

So why is Israel the bad guy?

Yes but the constitution never provides the nuts n bolts. That's the whole point. The constitution says "you have to or can do it" and then it's up to the parliament of the day to write the rules of how it works.

Same as this S.51

51. Legislative powers of the Parliament

The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws for the peace, order, and good government of the Commonwealth with respect to:

  1. trade and commerce with other countries, and among the States;
  2. taxation; but so as not to discriminate between States or parts of States;
  3. bounties on the production or export of goods, but so that such bounties shall be uniform throughout the Commonwealth;
  4. borrowing money on the public credit of the Commonwealth;
  5. postal, telegraphic, telephonic, and other like services;
  6. the naval and military defence of the Commonwealth and of the several States, and the control of the forces to execute and maintain the laws of the Commonwealth;
  7. lighthouses, lightships, beacons and buoys;
  8. astronomical and meteorological observations;
  9. quarantine;
  10. fisheries in Australian waters beyond territorial limits;
  11. census and statistics;
  12. currency, coinage, and legal tender;
  13. banking, other than State banking; also State banking extending beyond the limits of the State concerned, the incorporation of banks, and the issue of paper money;
  14. insurance, other than State insurance; also State insurance extending beyond the limits of the State concerned;
  15. weights and measures;
  16. bills of exchange and promissory notes;
  17. bankruptcy and insolvency;
  18. copyrights, patents of inventions and designs, and trade marks;
  19. naturalization and aliens;
  20. foreign corporations, and trading or financial corporations formed within the limits of the Commonwealth;
  21. marriage;
  22. divorce and matrimonial causes; and in relation thereto, parental rights, and the custody and guardianship of infants;
  23. invalid and old-age pensions;
  24. 13the provision of maternity allowances, widows' pensions, child endowment, unemployment, pharmaceutical, sickness and hospital benefits, medical and dental services (but not so as to authorize any form of civil conscription), benefits to students and family allowances;
  25. the service and execution throughout the Commonwealth of the civil and criminal process and the judgments of the courts of the States;
  26. the recognition throughout the Commonwealth of the laws, the public Acts and records, and the judicial proceedings of the States;
  27. 14the people of any race for whom it is deemed necessary to make special laws;
  28. immigration and emigration;
  29. the influx of criminals;
  30. external affairs;
  31. the relations of the Commonwealth with the islands of the Pacific;
  32. the acquisition of property on just terms from any State or person for any purpose in respect of which the Parliament has power to make laws;
  33. the control of railways with respect to transport for the naval and military purposes of the Commonwealth;
  34. the acquisition, with the consent of a State, of any railways of the State on terms arranged between the Commonwealth and the State;
  35. railway construction and extension in any State with the consent of that State;
  36. conciliation and arbitration for the prevention and settlement of industrial disputes extending beyond the limits of any one State;
  37. matters in respect of which this Constitution makes provision until the Parliament otherwise provides;
  38. matters referred to the Parliament of the Commonwealth by the Parliament or Parliaments of any State or States,15 but so that the law shall extend only to States by whose Parliaments the matter is referred, or which afterwards adopt the law;
  39. the exercise within the Commonwealth, at the request or with the concurrence of the Parliaments of all the States directly concerned, of any power which can at the establishment of this Constitution be exercised only by the Parliament of the United Kingdom or by the Federal Council of Australasia;
  40. matters incidental to the execution of any power vested by this Constitution in the Parliament or in either House thereof, or in the Government of the Commonwealth, or in the Federal Judicature, or in any department or officer of the Commonwealth.

Have you not seen these maps ? Israel have been ever expanding, causing a fuss and then putting their hands in the air claiming innocence when shit gets nasty. Anyone who complains is antisemitic.

This thread says it all

The rhetoric from jews across the world is echoed by this merkin.

"We’re done listening to liberal fools. Netanyahu will finish it this time - for good. The Arabs can go live in Jordan that was the two state solution created in 1948."

I might be wrong, but it seems that they are hell bent on using the rest of the liquid paper on the far right map.

When shit gets nasty? are you serious?

Hamas needs to be wiped out no one wants to do it. The world puts their heads up their own asses when all is quiet and as you posted Israel keeps growing but no one cares not even the lunatic supporters in Australia until innocent people are murdered and then oh no Iseral has been stealing our land.. Free Palestine.

There are people in their ivory towers that don't give a flying f**k about innocent lives as long as their pockets are filled.

Its f**king ridiculous living in the year 2023 and shit like this is still going on...

Rant over
