Why don't they just go establish the committee and not have it in the constitution (whatever that is). Why do I feel like if I google aboriginal advisory committee I will find there are already 10 such groups in existence?
They've been chopped, dropped and changed around by governments of both persuasions for 51 years.

No wonder Indigenous people (other than Jacinta Price and loose Unit Lydia Thorpe...) wanted one in the Constitution.

You don't need to be a labour member to be a labour wanker.

Lots of first nation people supported the NO vote btw.

Take 2 seconds and google Jacinta and Alcohol Ban bill..
But once you wipe your tears away...
Also a lot of people voted yes who when the rubber really hits the road are actual racists.

Lol. Nice fail...

Uh huh... some did, and many of those because they wanted more (Treaty etc). But based on previous representative Indigenous people's forums, Jacinta does not represent the majority view.

The first Google result that came up was critical of it/her... doesn't bode well:

There’s lot’s more of us who would vote YES but say NO in fear of being called out.
You could argue a lot of people who voted NO but don't come out in fear of being labelled racist.

It just became a toxic discussion on both sides there was never going to be a winner.

I'd like to say to all the indigenous Australians, particularly those who are members of this forum....in my opinion, you do have a voice.

Agree Dutton will try and use it as ammo... but he will be surprised (disappointed) when he fails. As stated in analysis on the TV, the Teal seats are all strongly Yes - and those are the seats Dutton needs to win back for the LNP to get back to government.

I'm pretty certain the Liberals have all but given up on those seats in their current form, you only need to look at the kind of things Dutton has been saying to understand they they believe their future is in the outer ring seats, and not those leafy suburbs held by the Teals.

To regain those, they'd need a shift politically they're not prepared to make.

Your fail about trying to make this Referendum result or any of my posts tonight about "Labour".

I voted on a question about an addition to our Country's Constitution (as required by our laws)... I guess that's "trying to do the right thing"? To me it was (and still is) a sensible proposal - but it did not gain the 50% votes in support needed from around the country (and four of six states).
Yes Labour were critical of her bill 😂 But that's not the point the point is she is trying to help the people in the NT but your friends labour are playing Politics..
There's many differing views about how to help Indigenous peoples in the NT have better outcomes in education, employment etc. None of them from either side of politics - including the previous measures which Jacinta's bill harks back to - have worked. Again, my point is the referendum idea was a different framework that could have achieved a different outcome - but Jacinta said... No.
Damn I love stirring political wankers 😂
If your aim is to stir, you'd better try a lot harder... 😂

Yep, agree.

Which is why he's been slipping down in the polls despite the referendum polling/result, and why he won't be our next PM.

Yep, that’s what I would have done regardless of the recommendations from the Uluṟu statement and explained that it is the best chance of getting what they want as an end goal. Although I also would have instigated a voice through legislation and provided evidence of its effectiveness and value before going to that referendum down the track.

Perhaps.

But it's worth remembering that when announced poll support for the voice was like 65-70%, that's not exactly telling you it's gonna fail.
