Anyway I hope no Aboriginals feelings were hurt in this debacle (well maybe Latrell's). They should have had another referendum on the issue of the republic - that would be a good step towards reconciliation rather than what ever this was.

Must really cut deep Labour failed today 😂 for you to come up with the above BS
I'm actually not a Labor member, and the referendum was not about Labor or Liberal (as many prominent Liberals supported the Voice and Yes case).

But my point remains that Jacinta Price isn't yet bringing any ideas to the table about betterment for Indigenous People... including from her history presiding over the decline of Alice Springs... other than saying No to other (Indigenous) people's ideas.

Yep, that’s what I would have done regardless of the recommendations from the Uluṟu statement and explained that it is the best chance of getting what they want as an end goal. Although I also would have instigated a voice through legislation and provided evidence of its effectiveness and value before going to that referendum down the track.
You're right, they could have started a legislation (not Constitutional) Voice of some sort, and used it and it's experience as a model for a potentially successful Referendum down the track.

But it's a fine line those who are in power walk between listening to people (the point of this whole recognition/Voice) in the first place, and continuing the history of (whiteys) telling Indigenous people what's best for them and what they should do.

So having said that, I can understand why Albo went about it the way he did. In the same way I can understand some people thinking they weren't convinced by what passed for the Yes campaign (which is/was not Albo's responsibility).

You don't need to be a labour member to be a labour wanker.

Lots of first nation people supported the NO vote btw.

Take 2 seconds and google Jacinta and Alcohol Ban bill..
But once you wipe your tears away...

My bill of rights idea was the way to go.

The high court could interpret that to help indigenous people in all kinds of ways.

And poor and underprivileged people against abuse of power.

Hold corporate assholes accountable.
