RIP Connie Francis, aged 87, more a rock star for my parents generation, though I didn't mind a few of her tunes. Rather than post a Connie recording, I though it more fitting to post the Saints covering one of Connie's biggest hits, Lipstick on Her Collar.

RIP Dave Cousins, leader of English Folk rock band, the Strawbs, best known for the one hit single Part of the Union, of which I found this neat live version

Ozzy played his final show less than a week ago I think. He had been sick for some time.
That farewell gig was on 5 July. I'm a bit shocked that he left us soo soon after that gig. A great musical legacy, the Sabbs influenced a lot of guys of my generation to take up guitar. Paranoid was another of those riffs that everybody had to learn in early guitar lessons.
