OT: Drugs in Sport

the drug allegations are a blight on our game. if any player , from any club is guilty they should be banned for life, A $500 thousand dollar fine. if any club is aware of game fixing that club should be kicked out of the nrl. i personally do not want to be associated with the game if these allegations are found to be true. i follow the game with admiration for the skill and natural talent of the players.

Pretty sure that's no defence these days. IIRC a swimmer was given psuedoephradrine (sp) by her coach, yet was banned ? Warney has given diuretics by his mum (LOL).

As a professional athlete the onus is on you to check what you put in your body. Half the stuff at the gym is not legal. Like the stuff that Humble got caught taking can be bought on ebay.

i wonder if Tom had fruit punch or lemon lime :-k

Does anyone think today's circus/report/press conference is wrong. I mean what other industrial/service (police /public service etc) has an investigation like this done and reported to the public yet no team /player/ club is named . As no one is named there is now a dark cloud over anyone involved in the major codes which is unfair - wouldn't it be more appropriate if the authorities instead of issuing the report to the public actually made arrrests/charge the people they have evidence against. It is like they are trying to walk before crawling. The report is to broad.

That is f**king so bloody stupid - believed by the brain dead out there.

I reckon two Parramatta games need to be looked at closely - their win against Manly (and the gridiron pass that was missed by all the officials) and Parra's come back against the Wests Tigers (what, about 30 points in 10- 15 m'sinutes).

nobody is saying it should not be investigated but the press conference today was nothing more than a stunt and at the moment questions the integrity of every sports person.

Do your investigation then release details and/or charge people.

They have the names, officials (referees), the clubs and codes: they were shaking the tree today to see if anyone else came forward (witnesses to these activities, concerned dopers - players, officials) they don't know about it. It is a fairly old tactic - but they will move quickly, probably in the next week or two.

Id rather SK be investigated for impersonating a first grade coach.

That would be a good start for the nrl.

I have absolutely no confidence in the NRL now that it's come out games are being fixed. I'm thinking about giving it away.

This is a gee up, right?

That Manly game also had 2 Manly tries that should never have been given, so we still win!
