I am not sure what the solution is tbh.Well I have never been to there, but was just thinking that the first proposal for 2032 was Opening Ceremony at Suncorp and Athletics at Gabba or something like that to save cash.
Personally, I think that the sustainability of the CommGames and Olympics are all about setting aside the bling (without compromising on the actual facilities for the athletes) and not going broke.
Nek minute the new guy wants to build a $3B stadium. We’d all like a Ferrari in the garage, but are they practical?
They have spent 3 years on this project and still have no idea how to proceed.
It seems to me Brisbane wanted the games but then didnt actually truly realise what it was going to cost to actually have them or have a genuine plan in place during there bid process.
How much wasted money has been spent on committees, advisorys, architects already and no one still can't figure out the answer.
Where are they doing the swimming.
You look at Sydney and Homebush olympic park now it's a true eyesore. But no one relates that to the Olympic games or have it reflect badly on Sydney 2000.
I hate the place it's a prick to get too and get out off if there isn't event buses.
Compared to Commbank it's a shit ground to watch rectangular sports and Rugby Legaue unless it's packed for a GF or Origin and even then it's still overrated imo.
Outside of the 2009 prelim final i wouldn't say i have left the ground and gone gee how good was the atmosphere.
I wouldn't go to another origin game there unless I had freebies.
Anyway back to Brisbane whatever they decide now it's going to be controversial either way.
