Well I have never been to there, but was just thinking that the first proposal for 2032 was Opening Ceremony at Suncorp and Athletics at Gabba or something like that to save cash.

Personally, I think that the sustainability of the CommGames and Olympics are all about setting aside the bling (without compromising on the actual facilities for the athletes) and not going broke.

Nek minute the new guy wants to build a $3B stadium. We’d all like a Ferrari in the garage, but are they practical?
I am not sure what the solution is tbh.

They have spent 3 years on this project and still have no idea how to proceed.

It seems to me Brisbane wanted the games but then didnt actually truly realise what it was going to cost to actually have them or have a genuine plan in place during there bid process.

How much wasted money has been spent on committees, advisorys, architects already and no one still can't figure out the answer.

Where are they doing the swimming.

You look at Sydney and Homebush olympic park now it's a true eyesore. But no one relates that to the Olympic games or have it reflect badly on Sydney 2000.

I hate the place it's a prick to get too and get out off if there isn't event buses.

Compared to Commbank it's a shit ground to watch rectangular sports and Rugby Legaue unless it's packed for a GF or Origin and even then it's still overrated imo.

Outside of the 2009 prelim final i wouldn't say i have left the ground and gone gee how good was the atmosphere.

I wouldn't go to another origin game there unless I had freebies.

Anyway back to Brisbane whatever they decide now it's going to be controversial either way.

She keeps on milking it mate

Australian Olympic breakdancer Rachael “Raygun” Gunn is demanding $10,000 in legal fees from the owner of a small Sydney comedy club that had planned to stage a show called Raygun The Musical.

She keeps on milking it mate and the media keep giving her air.
Attention seeking twat and an embarrassment to Oz.
I've far more respect for Eric the Eel or that ski jump dude.
The non attention seeking Eddie the Eagle had a movie made about him

Have been to SOP outside of big football events and I think it is not a bad place. It is certainly on the up
With the metro and LR extension coming soon it should solve the accessibility issues.

The worst thing is that the main stadium is crap and should have been a rectangle

The comedian behind the doomed Raygun musical has seemingly found a legal loophole to host her breakdance-inspired show.
Stephanie Broadbridge's Raygun-inspired musical was over before it even began earlier this month after the Olympian's lawyers quickly muscled in and shut it down.

Breaking The Musical: A Completely Legal Parody Musical will be playing in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney next year and is Broadbridge's second attempt to host a stage show inspired by Gunn's Olympic debut.
Broadbridge announced the news on Instagram with a poster for the musical, which no longer features Raygun's name and likeness.
Instead, it included a shadow of a kangaroo seemingly performing Gunn's now-infamous hop move.

If she handled this whole olympics aftermath thing better, she could have gone down a national treasure. After the olympics, had bit of a larf. Been humble.

She'd be at Carols By Candle Light and random reality shows for the next 20 years.

Instead, most people (my assumption) think she's a knob.

seems that the most Australian thing you can do at the moment is sue someone if you don't like them

I wouldve thought just after it she would embrace and be a cult figure. The Kangaroo moves became so popular worldwide, you had NFL players dancing to it after a touchdown. People dancing in the street, skits in American shows, halloween or Mad Monday outfits.

Then she appeared on the Project or one those Current Affairs shows to put a serious spin on it, stating she was attacked on social media for her "great" performance..

I dont condone the attacking on social media, but define "great" ? Didnt she score nothing? I mean I'm not expert on break dancing but Ive seen way better ones. Besides, breaking shouldnt have been included in the Olympics, and Ive got no idea who decided on it when you have Cricket and Rugby League that wont get a look into the Olympics.

Now suddenly if someone wants to put it in a comedy skit or show, she wants to sue them.

At least Eddie and Eric put in performances that they could be proud of despite their limited abilities.
Raygun did nothing but embarrass herself and a country.

Not sure if she is more embarrassing than Eric the Eel - at least she went through a qualifying process to get to the Olympics. Did you think one of the breakdancers that she beat in the qualifiers was better?

The most embarrassing thing is that breakdancing was a sport at the Olympics in the first place
