Free Trade agreements, we are the world's basket case for them. Tariff on imported cars into Australia around 3%, Import/Excise Duty for Australian cars imported into Thailand around 200% of the car's value; but we have a free trade agreement with Thailand.

People, you have been conned by the economic dries in both Labor and Liberal governments.

We all know Abbott's credentials but guess what, that little prick Shorten is a right wing economic dry. The country's been f**ked over by them since the 80s - eventually we will become a warehouse for imported goods.

The ad is sicken attempt at PR.

It all comes down to economies of scale, people aint buying Aussie cars in the numbers of the past, they are into the Mazdas,Subarus,Corollas,Suzukis,Volvos, etc etc.
If you don't have the throughput, with big overheads, you are stuffed.Especially competing with Asian labour costs.
Maybe the consumer can also be blamed.I bought a Subaru recently.

The Holden plant should be converted to making army vehicles for local and exports. The expertise is there, and with so many flipping wars going on,there would be plenty of buyers, just saying.

In fact the Shark's motto ,should be we're here to stay, and not Holdens.

Thgey did. 60% of the trade work-force from Lower Brisbane through to Norhtern Rivers now work in projects started by the great entrepreneuers of Australia.
As soon as we push through the Galileo basin projects & get that Port built, there should be heaps of jobs for ex-holden workers.
But some whinging kkhhunts will try to stop it for sure.

Why would they have anything to whinge about... P.M. Tone has 'LIBERATED' them from their employment.

No need to whinge at all. Not like that Black Trash you were on about during the Northern Territory Elections hey Reef. Now that was a mob that had something to whinge about.

Gee I heard that 85% of baseball bats being sold over Christmas are not going to be used for Baseball. Apparently it has something to do with liars, backflipping, contempt and transparency.

Greatest slump in approval for an elected government in the history of polling. Tones mobs won a record or sumpant.

Robbie Farah in his kangaroos jersey featured prominently "here".

Everything is "here", except the company.

I can cop Petro. The best Queenslander they could have picked IMO. But seriously, Robbie Farah? Even some Tiger fans hate him.

I don't care if Holden sink or swim. The average Holden worker is subsidised around $50K by you and me.

My industry in IT isn't subsidised. I've seen thousands of jobs that have gone off shore. I speak for many in an industry that has had to compete with other countries, with no Australian taxpayer support.

f**k 'em, they're not that special.

Take the holden out of it and most punters wouldn't care that jobs have gone.
I see it all the time in my industry, sad part is some use it as political leverage while the actual family man is struggling.

No need to worry Bluey and Bastard - the new Guvmint is going to lower everyones electricity bill by a squillion dollars a year and create 2 million jobs, and open everything up for business - and we now have new best friends in Japan, China, Indonesia, Miamai, New Guniea, and East Timor.

Oh yeah I nearly forgot .... they is going to give everyone real actual wages.

It's all under control apparently.

I am just a bit worried about the grand kids paying off the $175 million per day we are currently paying on interests as a result of Sloppy Joes borrowing.

I'm curious, which jobs, which industries, do you think should be subsidised by tax payers like you and me Quigs ?
