OT: Parra Stadium sharing

To be honest, even with a 35k stadium, the Eels ought to play Tigers and Dogs at Homebush still. The 50k crowd was very blue and gold.

Not so sure mate.
At the Wanderers civic reception last night in Parramatta Town Square, the Mayor and local member both said publically that the 35000 upgrade WILL go ahead.
Could be just political talk but it would be a pretty outlandish thing to say if they at least didn't know something.

What's more painful is that the joke of a team GWS had 50 million handed to them on a platter for the upgrade of Skoda Stadium (which they haven't filled to capacity once!!!), as well as all the millions poured into Blacktown sporting precinct (which they have now abandoned) and also, they were gifted acres of space at Sydney Olympic Park to develop another newer training facility on the site of the former golf driving range.

All the time while we have to beg, borrow and steal to get decent funding for a stadium that is home for two of the west's major sporting franchises.

Over 100m of taxpayers money has been wasted on that joke of a team, while two clubs with huge fans bases and that are wanted in the area can't even get half that cash. Makes me sick, i hate the AFL with a passion but they seem to know how to lobby governments to throw money their way.
