The majority of Pirtek Stadium attendees probably aren't, but they represent a small part of the fanbase, and even smaller part of the potential fanbase.

And the Wanderers plans for a 35000 seater will cover those too. When we outgrow that, maybe then, and only then should we look at Homebush.

The Pirtek Stadium attendees represent the overwhelming majority of people who actually turn up at games!

Well it seems that's the way it is. We hear very little from the Eels about pushing for an upgrade, but we hear something from the Wanderers weekly, not only lobbying Macquarie Street, but Canberra as well.
The Wanderers wanted safe standing seating installed at the northern end, but the Eels poo poohed that idea. It really makes you wonder what the Eels plans are for the long term, but the Wanderers have made theirs clear - stay at a significantly upgraded Parra Stadium, and they are doing everything they can to make that a reality.

Disappointing news if the Eels aren't doing everything they can to get an upgrade, a twin assault by both clubs would have to be the best option you would have to think. Or are the club happy to be stuck at an outdated 24k seat stadium???

Mate the eels staff have been in the us gaining exposure to match day professionalism, world class stadium, and learning how to give fans a world class match day experience.

You can't expect them to be doing anything about parramatta stadium. Theyvare way too busy being professional.

I love your sarcastic comments.
Even Pastor Brian couldn't keep Jarryd in Sydney and he has the 'BIG FELLA' on his team.

What are the chances of getting a proper stadium upgrade now that they've seemingly started construction on this shitty nothing upgrade? Not that I'd ever advocate burning down a stadium, but if it were to happen now it wouldn't be all bad...

Who knows, loser baby?
I've heard that there's been plenty of pressure being put on the State Govt for a major upgrade, hence the delays in the start of this initial shitty band aid upgrade.
We are so f**king backwards in this country sometimes.

This is Turkey. With all due respect, not one of the world's thriving economies currently, yet......

If we are going to go straight from current capacity to 35000, it's detonate. If we are going to do it in stages, it will be an inferior product that will be out of date in no time.
Just scrolling through Skyscraper City, in all the infrastructure threads, just proves how backwards this country is. Check out how many countries either have, or are developing High Speed Rail!! We've been "talking" about it for 15 years, maybe more, and are still no closer to implementing it. I caught the XPT (Express Passenger Train - lol) to Dubbo 18 months ago. For much of the trip over the Central Tablelands, the train was restricted to 60-80 km/h due to all the bends. Express Passenger Train????? f**king lol.

Here is the last page of 437 pages on China's HSR.

Japans developments in Maglev.

And we can't even decide over a simple upgrade for a stadium in demand.

Yet, politically, there is no drama in throwing a lazy $50 million towards the Sydney Showground for a team that had yet to prove demand for such spending, yet two locally indigenous sports have to fight tooth and nail for, compared to world stadium infrastructure spending, is a pretty basic upgrade.

Thanks Suity, there's some decent stadiums in that lot. Although, I probably wouldn't want a surging crowd behind me if I was exiting an upper passenger tunnel in Antalya stadium.

lol.

Let's just hope that the current Wanderers powerbrokers can make progress and get the job done.
If we were however, waiting for the Eels for stadium upgrade progress..............:?

I've given this topic some serious thought and I reckon the money for the crappy upgrade would be better spent hiring a bunch of blimps with glass floors. Or put it all on black.

But seriously, I'm no soccer fan but whatever gets the job done.

Well, I am a league and football fan, but as you say, whatever gets the job done.
Pirtek is a hole. It's so decrepid in modern day stadium facilities it ain't funny. The only good thing it has going for it is its sight lines. Everything else is rubbish.
Hopefully, both the Wanderers and Eels can give politics enough of a push to give us all a really decent place to watch football and league.
