it seems more likely we'll play out of pirtek in 2016, it was the SMH reporting after all..

surely with the wanderers about to kick off in a few weeks and season tickets etc sold, they would make them find other arrangements in short notice. More likely they'll finish their season off at Pirtek into early next year, and its just whether we play out our season there or move straight away.

So to cut down on games at ANZ, do we take the Roosters to Allianz, the Panthers to Peppers, still have the 4 ANZ stadium clubs at ANZ, making for 4 home and 4 away games. But where do we take other teams?

Some people have suggested going to Peppers for 2 years because it is better than ANZ. I still think that is thinking small scale.

Also 30,000 seats is still 11,000 or so more than we have at the moment and means an over 50% increase in capacity.

I've noticed that a few news stories are now saying that the new Eels stadium will replicate the Birdsnest .

I've heard that as well.
Albeit on a much smaller scale. I'm thinking they are just trying hard to get some pics together to take to the masses.
I just hope they don't waste money on stupid architectural wankery that costs a lot of dollars.
Keep it simple and get it right.
We are getting the capacity of AAMI. We don't need the stupid roof or anything like that. Just a simple roof that covers all spectators, and get the rest of the facilities right.
There are so many examples of stadiums around the world that get it right.
Please Mike Baird, don't f**k this up, and if it's only going to be a 30000 capacity stadium, make sure there is scope for future expansion, unlike AAMI.

lol.

Translated as...........

"Let's get season ticket's sold first and then announce a schedule".

Then again, knowing the Friends of Parrmatta Park, and their f**king greeny agendas, it may never be built.
Are people aware that there is height limitations, and boundary limitations, that are legislated through Parliament?
That means, we can't, as it stands, build a stadium outside the current boundaries of the footprint. Nor, can we exceed current heights. This is all legislated.
Laws will need to be changed to have any sort of massive improvement go ahead beyond what we already have.
I'm really hoping this just get's done, and there is no shit fight like last time.

Couldn't agree more.
The Birdsnest thing looks shithouse from the outside. Ditto AAMI in Melbourne.
Just give me a nice, simple looking stadium. I'd rather not have them waste the money on that crap and use it for something much more important.

Um no. As Parramatta rises, this stadium should be a statement that the city has come of age.

Boring architecture = boring city.

That's fine, but what would you rather money be spent on?
A fancy roof aka Allianz where most people still get wet, or a short beer and food queue at half time?

Was certainly weird travelling to Belmore but when your team is highly entertaining and successful it wasn't too bad. Also having a brand new stadium to look forward to helped ease the pain. The first game at Parramatta Stadium was one ill never forget. Sterlo had a "10" rated game. We smashed the Dragons. What a day.

Thanks for the reply Gazzamatta.

Allianz is 30 years old. It was never designed to keep merkins dry.

This stadium will be done right and will provide a wonderful fan day experience. The site will be serviced by light rail for easy access to reliable rail.

In the end, if it costs too much, just make it look like a f**king cardboard box on the outside. I couldn't care less.

Spend the money on the inside first then see what you can do on the outside with what's left.

If sacrifice a fancy stadium roof and the stupid money they'll spend on the fancy roof for a standard roof that covers everyone and lift the capacity by 10k to 40k with the $ that they'll save on the stupid fancy roof. Hope that makes sense.
