I refer you back to the notes from tonight's meeting, and in particular, this point.......

Suity

What are they against? ... this was a bunch of fans yeah? According to the first post about the meeting it was wsw & eels "fans" ... are they against a pole in their face? Like you said these people probably dont know what it is .... and this is being written by some wanderers ppl who are totaly for it and gonna see any indifference as "against it".

From the article you posted earlier

Parramatta Eels are very supportive of the concept but will not accept any seating plan that would restrict the view of patrons who prefer to sit down.

So if it can be done to suit all then seems like no one is against it to me

I agree. The Eels probably don't know what it is. And Wanderers fans will see that indifference as against it.

The fact the Eels were stated as being against it shows our ignorance.
Ok, we prefer our fans to sit.
Wanderers prefer their active to stand.
Safe standing provides the option for both.

It ain't hard, but this country is so ignorant to this sort of stuff hat it will f**k this up. Guaranteed.

One only has to look at some of these WSW fans to realise the filth we are dealing with here.
Lay down with dogs get up with fleas, the whole stadium is jumping with fleas and lice after a WSW game.

I have read the comments from the Eels fan base committee that attends the meeting, and they seem very rationale and also want a stadium for 35,000. The fact that the usual brilliant minds that support the WSWombats have come up with what they want , and according to people like Suity, it must be right

If you has attended the member meeting late last month you would have had the opportunity to listen to the Eels committee and see that they are aa dedicated and at least as smart as the those that attend on behalf of the sokker fans. Sometime you need to understand that they are as smart and dedicated as those from the other side, but at the moment Mr Suit you only seem prepared to believe the geniuses that run the sokker side

Anyway, this won't make any difference to the rationale of your argument, but just wanted to suggest that there was general agreement that the stadium should be bigger. The fact that the Eels side want to sit , and the Wombats want to jump up and down and face away from the field impacts on their choice.

Personally believe this is the modern way to go and be all seated , and try and annoy the beejesus out of the nutters that believe they have the God given right to rule their way

Off you go, tell us all that the Wombats are the best thing since sliced bread, still haven't and won't watch the Aleague. The reason the ratings are crap, is that the vast majority of followers go to the game, so don't watch it on TV that is the scope of the overall support.

But, Suity. Your source for info concerning the Eels attitude to the proposal seems to be some bloke from the WSW forum, whose comments on the Eels and their fans don't exactly appear to be objective. He seems to be one of a bunch who for some reason consider themselves superior supporters.

I notice another issue that the parra side and WSW side disagree on is the police presence. The parra fans were happy to have any number of police highly visible to the public. For some reason the WSW fans are against it. Surely the fans want increased safety?

There you go.
A Parra fan fighting against fans who want a bigger and better stadium.
Who woulda thought.

Suity

I'm not fighting against fans who want a bigger stadium, just saying they sound really cocky. You don't think it's arrogant to believe that Parra stadium is being rebuilt purely because of the Wanderers? No doubt they played a part but the fact that the stadium is in use for 12 months of the year has something to do with it, surely? Do they think that if they were the only occupants of the stadium that it would be getting an increase?

If another summer sport had come along and made Parra stadium its home I'm sure it would have also been rebuilt. Even if the Wanderers were shithouse each year and only had 10k people turning up to each game it would be getting rebuilt because it's in use for 12 months of the year, plus it's old a shit.

Not everyone is against you Suity.

I dont think it would be getting rebuilt if it was only getting 10k crowds in the summer. It might get an overhaul but not rebuilt. The large crowds wsw get is definitely a factor. And i think the powers realise the eels will get big crowds once we get our fingers out too.

It would. It's the governments plan. Parramatta is booming and a new stadium is the cornerstone. If Allianz is knocked down to be rebuilt, teams like the Waratahs, Roosters and even Sydney FC are a chance to play out of there. They will be pushing for as many events as they can get to show off the new shiny stadium and start getting returns.

Suity, I suggest you look at the details on the Cumberland throw , which sets out the reasons and suggestions from the Eels focus group that attended the meeting

You may not like it as it sounds sensible and objective, you really need to get off that wombat sized high horse and do some non soccer research.

Wiki says that safe standing areas are banned in UK and Wales.

Wonder why ?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_standing

I don't think that is quite right. Teams in the Premier League and Championship have to have all-seater stadiums (and there's a grace period for teams new to the Championship). That's all the rule says. Teams in the bottom 2 divisions could have the whole crowd standing (safely or on scorpions) if they felt like it.

PS: Wales is part of the UK :)

Every picture i have seen of the seating that does both sitting and standing makes me think it it f**king terrible. It is entirely designed for standing with a ridiculously inappropriate uncomfortable sitting alternative.

If they go this way they just have to accept it is a standing option.

Yep, you would be banging your head on the rails when sitting. Also the rail in front might also be blocking your line of sight when you are sitting. The worst part would be fights and arguments from people who want to sit but have some merkin standing in front of them.

If it were done then i assume parra games would be seated games and you wouldnt be permitted to stand. But hten youd have security needing to constantly tell merkins to sit
