Its not the tax effect on payg earners there's Compo there for the first couple of years anyway, its not the effect on big business they will just pass it on, or collect massive compo packages from a govt eager to buy their silence, its the crunch its going to have on small to medium business, jammed with increased product costs increased running costs but unable to pass them on.

end of the day though only a f**king idiot believes a tax that will rip billions off business and is designed to reduce consumption isn't an impediment on the economy.

I remember as a young bloke going into the domain for a perve and a listen to the public speakers. it was a great day out.

I forget now who was the gun speaker and his name. He was known by just one name.

But he was the #1. Always drew the biggest crowd to listen. Anyhow he'd just set up his little step ladder and stand and rang a bell and start. Hundreds would flock around to listen. He was very funny.

One particular day he was addressing a large crowd and all of a sudden this lunatic came running down the hill yelling and screaming at the guy and the crowd for listening to him. The fool was waving his hands and screaming about God and the Lord. He was about 100metres away and running - staggering towards the speaker and the throng.

The guy speaking just stopped... told the crowd to be very silent. He just said listen and listen carefully.

All anyone could hear was the maniac yelling and screaming and getting closer.

The bloke speaking, just pointed to the idiot and said in a loud clear voice.

"You see that?" "That is what religion does to you"

For some unknown reason, when ever I read Reefy's comments in here, that bloke running down the hill yelling and screaming always comes to mind.

oh and did anyone notice their bog tax cuts in this weeks pay, no I hear, thats because we didn't get one, yeah sure the government increased the tax free threshold to $18,200 but guess what else they did, they got rid of the low income rebate which cancels out the tax cuts, but thats not all they also increased the tax rates for the 18,2001 to 37,000 by 2.5 which effectively kills off any tax deduction, and before anyone say low income earners will be better off they wont because the low income rebate has been canned, it changes nothing as previously $20k per anum was effectively tax free anyway, and people got a refund which is something they could do something with.

roll on the next election and get rid of these idiots
