Another thing to keep an eye on. Today is a very important day in the court case for Ashby / Lewis (the telecrap reporter). Lewis can't claim source protection because he has already spilled his guts to Hadley /Chris smith that Ashby was his informant... he bragged about it on air and publicly.

The Judge has already told Lewis's barristers that the "cat is already out of the bag" and advised them to reconsider their approach. Well today is the day.

Major shareholders have renewed their push for media mogul Rupert Murdoch to resign as News Corp chairman at the company's annual meeting later this year.


Eighteen major shareholders including Connecticut's state pension fund and the UK's Legal & General have now signed a letter calling for Murdoch to step down from the company he has spent 60 years creating.


News Corp has been rocked by revelations of widespread phone hacking at its UK newspaper subsidiary. Earlier this year a UK parliamentary committee said Murdoch was "not a fit person" to run an international business.

A JOURNALIST at the heart of the Peter Slipper scandal should not have to reveal his sources, the manager of opposition business says.


Christopher Pyne says News Limited journalist Steve Lewis should not be forced to hand over a document revealing a confidential source’s identity.


Lewis is arguing he should not have to comply with a Federal Court-issued subpoena that orders him to do so.


“I don’t think Steve Lewis should have to reveal his sources,” Mr Pyne told the Nine Network on Friday.

The good judge today has ruled that all text and email messages requested by Mr Slipper and the Guvment can and will be used as evidence in next Mondays hearing.
