Misery guts.

that's exactly how I felt last year when they did a number on us at our home ground..do you remember the one we should of won by a million?? :sarcasm:

i would encourage fans to watch the match last year before you start getting excited about our 2nd win..

you can either call it misery guts or whatever but I'm old enough to realise not to celebrate before a game.

Misery guts.

They have no line speed, no real defensive structure, poor completion rates and no main point in attack. Beetson, Sterling and Langlands wouldn't help this mob.

Souths didn't look a hell of a lot better.

Completion rates are the biggest area of concern for Parramatta at the moment
.

If we control the ball, we'll beat Cronulla.

They offer very little in attack and the only way I can see them beating us is that if once again we constantly turn the pill over and hand them some nice field position.

Whatever anyone says about comparing our form to last year, our defence is much better and has been enough to keep us in games despite how poore we have been with the ball in hand.

half the reason tim went to england was to get out of the spotlight i hope his issues are behind him because he will be a bug under a microscope this week the media will be milking his story harder than a six armed dairy farmer

what chance a Tahu intercept from a cut out pass?

One thing we should be wary of, is his kicking game inside our 20. Hayne will need to be in the right spots....

Call me a conspiracy theorist or maybe just plain unempathetic but I think getting out of the spotlight was the ENTIRE reason he left. I still to this day think his 'disorder' was merely a front to get him out of his contract. After all he was playing again a little over a month later.

He will be in every paper this week in the lead up, even more so now he will return against us

One thing the Shire will need to be wary of is his defence any where from goal line to goal line, and side line to sideline.

no he will be in every paper all week in the lead up they will hit him up for an interview and whatever he says will be twisted and turned until they get their juicy 'out for revenge' headline then they will hit someone from the eels up for an interview (hayne or hindy probably) and whatever they say will be twisted and turned until they get their 'bring it on' headline and it will be tit for tat from there until game day

gues who scored 4 tries from fullback for them in NYC tonight? ;-)
Gardner always looked like a very decent football player to me. He seems rather injury prone though. I always assumed it was due to the fact that he seems to like playing at 100 miles an hour and is fairly small. Though probably no smaller than say a Preston Campbell or Alf Langer.

There are times when I would like to see Hayne return the ball as hard as he does. Not that i think Gardner is in Haynes league mind you....

Good luck to Smith. I wish him all the best, but not this week or the finals...

Albert Kelly is showing why Parra didn't think he was up to it yet. Very Ben Barba like. Barba still doesn't like to tackle much, but is looking more likely in attack. Kelly may improve though as he is still very young.

If i as Cronulla, I would be getting him out of the #1 jersey quickly or I would ask Mateo, Hayne and KK to give him mid field bombs all night and have guys like Tahu, Mortz and Reddy roaring down field.

With Barrett out I would suggest they have Kelly and Smith in the halves with Stapelton back at fullback. Mind you if they keep Kelly back there I wouldnt have a problem because he looks way out of his depth atm in first grade. He is definatly not ready, in attack he looks scared to do anything and in defence he is non-existant atm.

johnny morris and timmy smith will they re-capture there 2005 form together?

Got a feeling we will loose just like last year when the sharks used the eels to break there loosing streak.

Barrett played the whole match didn't he? what's wrong with him?

Having seen the tackle i''d say he's done a rib or 2.Two man tackle and he was crunched in the ribs by a shoulder then the defender drove him into the ground with the shoulder well and truly driving into the ribs

Last year the Sharks showed enough in defence that they could score minimal points and stay in a game. There defence last night was terrible. A better team would have put 50 past them. The Bunnies are terribly disjointed in attack but held onto the ball long enough that they scored as many as they did.

If our mob can hold the ball we can win.

I've never known you to be any way else mate...... I'm not putting sh*t on you. We could be leading by 50 in the GF with 3 minutes to go and you'll still keep waiting for a piano to fall on someone and ruin it.

As for celebrating, far from it. But if the boys play simple football and hold on to the football and play straight they should win on Saturday night.

The 1999 Magpies side couldn't play the Sharks in to form.

Stories coming out of the Broncos (compliments of 3rd parties) is that his defence has improved. His shoulders are stronger, his upper body strength has improved. He has obviously put the hours in. He would have been in the Broncos 17 if either Wallace or Lockyer were injured.

Like I said late last year/early this year, Timmy represents our worst nightmare. Lets hope his bipolar issue gets in the way..... a stuff up with his medication, ala Langlands, the needle and those infamous white boots vs Roosters 1975.... otherwise he could (and should if he is on-song) decimate our defence next week.

I hope I am wrong......... but people do change, if they really want to. Remember, we all have the gift of free-will. There is too much hanging on to Timmy's past-stuff to our detriment.

Ohhh Paul & Daniel, why didn't you grab Timmy when he wanted to come back to the Eels. He had so much he wanted to give back to this club....
you're a grub. I would suggest you edit your post so that you don't wish a relapse of bi-polar issues on Tim on a public forum. Moron.
and don't even think of replying to this with an inane post full of copy/pasted information and images, just pull your head in.

oh! Go Gards!!!

How true is that! When in reality, im sure majority of Parra players would wish him all the best, and be ecstatic that he's got his life back in order. I'm thinking mainly of course of his ex roomie Benny Smith!!

nah nah nah, but it's ok! As Shayne Hayne said 'you've got plenty more ribs'.......................:-s
i would have punched him in the teeth for a comment like that! :fist:

I thought that too when I first looked as Casper's post but I don't think that he's being serious at all or meaning to be insensitive.

Not sure if this is the right thread for it - but I watched the Sharks game last night and yes Kelly was bad in defence but he had some lovely touches in attack. I don't think that he's not first grade standard, he just isn't a first class fullback.

Cronulla have problems but if we underestimate them they will beat us. They aren't as bad as all that and we're not hot stuff atm.

Souths made them look a lot better than they are. Souths are very ordinary at this stage of the season, but they too will improve. Langy might have been out of it too long..coaching like Chris Anderson when he came back....
