Being in a position where you were within one result of coming last is probably not something to credit to good coaching... the only thing that avoided the spoon that day was more likely a one-off dose of player pride?

We avoided the spoon because we played better over 26 rounds than two other teams. I don't see why you'd want to exclude one game. Actually, I do. ;-)

Yep, its great timing. The monkey is off Ricky's back, and if we can get some early points against the Raiders they might be likely to crumble.

You'd expect his young side to be a year older and better next year.

They have relied far too much on the brilliance of Milford and are yet to replace him.

They're older players are also either retiring or being moved on, again with no replacement in sight.

They will struggle for at least another season.

Also, I would expect The Sharks to be a different team next year.

I expect that squad to be worse next year. And yes, they may not get to rely on tragic neck injuries and ASSADA, so it could be a tough road ahead.

I hope the Broncos beat the Storm to put us out of misery. They deserve to be in the Top 8 more than we do. For F#$k sake there is almost 200 points difference in the two teams For and Againsts...

If for and against is what matters, then just rank teams on that and forget about win/loss records. In 2009 at least 3 of the teams that didn't make the finals had better for and against records than us (ok not 200 points better), but so what? If we miss out b/c of the for and against we absolutely deserved to. If we make the finals because we finish on more competition points than the next team, I can't see how that means we don't deserve it.

PS: The Cowboys finished 3rd on the ladder in 2007, with a -70 for and against.

I agree. I say this every year (so I'll say it again, so that next year I'll still be able to say I say it every year) but I reckon it's ridiculous that, in a sixteen team competition, half of those teams end up making the finals. Absolute joke. Parramatta shouldn't even be thinking about finals with that points differential.
