I used to love coming on this site. I really did. Now it's the worst it has ever been. The members who used to post and talk about league just don't come here anymore. Now it's just a competition between about 6 morons and who can post some bullshit line, ridiculous picture and other irrelevant shit.

Agreed. In the NRL forum its a battle of "who is the best troll" and in here its still about the same old crap. DA, Ozzie, the board, Robsons crap, etc etc. It usually ends up with a couple of pages worth of 2 people having a little bitch fight.

Was bound to happen, always happens as forums grow.

The amount of trolling pisses me off, its part of the reason why I left rleague and the other site and came here.

I suppose frustrations over the teams performances combined with a real lack of quality footy topics relating to the Eels that hasn't already been dissected a miilion times has lead to the OP's reason for starting this thread. I don't post as much as I would like to because I am not as analytic as most others here when it comes to strategy, positional selections etc. But, I love the Eels and this is where I come to when I want to read and sometimes share feelings about games and the season as it unfolds.

There's certainly a few nerds who dominate threads with mindless crap, that's for sure. They actually ruin threads and make them boring.

I reckon facebook and twitter have wrecked things mostly? Plus maybe that Footy Social site that I haven't checked out.

IMO the golden years of good footy-related discussions here left us behind when "social media" really took off, and the general population started to spend more of their down time on their own pages on those sites or apps or whatever they're called.... That and the passage of time and people's changing responsibilities etc - we've lost a lot of good posters over the years.

You're probably right Bart. I don't tweet or facebook, and the timing certainly does seem odd.
But, in general, besides a few humourous contributors, and a few wise footy heads, this place isn't much fun anymore.

I'd say the main issue is this used to be the de facto private forum for a social club.

Obviously some people have moved on with their lives (I believe JessEel is the blond Jess constantly getting re-tweeted by @TheParraEels), and this isn't that kind of place any more.

I can see why Avenger and his mates can't let go. Also why they're looking for someone to blame.
