As I say only saw 2nd half but Fox commentators seemed to suggest Iongi was decent in a badly beaten side.

I agree with it. Funny and not surprising the guy from our system was their best on ground. Not much you can do when the rest of the team gets fisted by Craig Bellamy though.

Some blow out scores to begin the season, some serious concerns for a few sides no sugar coating it. There was a perception going into this season it could be the closest in many a year but that myth has been out to bed.

I wouldn't read much into that. Roosters/eels had people out Vs very strong attacking teams. One of which has to be breaking the cap to get hunt there but anyway.

Agree. If it wasn’t for the excitement of Vegas the first round would have been a real bust. The games in Oz have been awful.

No, it will tighten. Hard to read too much into some of these blow outs. Roosters are in rebuild mode AND missing some hugely important players. Virtually the same for Parramatta.

This year the competition will be noticeably closer than last year.

He looks good on his feet but I felt he blew 2 x tries with the wrong pass. One lead to a Storm intercept. His speed was refreshing and is one to watch in future.
R.Smith went well without being great.

Storm where basicalt fully fit. The Eels entered the season with about 1.2mill in cap space spare. They released Sivo,RCG and Gutherson late and only replaced them with Williams and JAC.

Throw in Moses,Lane,Matterson,JAC,Simmonson and there is 3 million. Plus dead wood in Lussick,Bryce, Dunster who won't see NRL and there is another 750k

That's close to 5 million. Competing against a side who is probably 20% over the cap if included all the TPAS.
How they've managed to keep Faalgo and Pezet is mind blowing.

The intercept try was the right play he was just a step late passing. He's had 1 first grade game before this weekend I wouldn't hold it against him.

No. Pensini was unmarked. Just needed a short pass.
He will be much better in 2026. Needs experience. Looks like a 10yr nrl player but
