At the start of the season I had Parramatta above Souths (due to Reynolds and Bennett's departure)
I think they are around that 4th or 5th mark now.
I could make excuses for our two losses to Parramatta earlier, but that would be foolish. They were all over us before the send off.

I still believe our ceiling is higher than other clubs. The trick is to do it 3 times in the final series. And keep injuries at bay.
The finals are a different game. Pressure changes things. Some guys do weird things under it. Others go missing.

The Storm and the Roosters are massive threats. And despite Parramatta's inconsistencies they are a dangerous dark horse. Sharks too.

Roosters likely don't even make the 8.

Parra would have to win 4 games straight in the finals to win it, They haven't done that all year.

Though the biggest thing for the chasing teams is how intense their run homes have been and whether that mentally burns them out

I have the Rooster making it

Parra need to show they can do the distance in the grind.

The Storm game early on this year they did, against us the first time we had them beaten physically in the second half when JFH dropped the ball on the halfway line. Second game who knows since Nathan got himself sent off.

They'll likely finish outside the four and will need to bring the intensity for eight straight halves to win the comp. I'm not sure they can even do it for two straight.

Similar to Latrell.

Roosters will make the 8. I have said all year they will. Even during their slump. I think they beat Souths next week.

Parramatta mightn't have won 4 games straight all year, and mightn't win it, but they could knock us out if we take our eye off the ball. Despite their inconsistencies they are dangerous.

They certainly offer more than Raiders and Broncos do

It would be nice to play them at full strength, 13 v 13, and without any soft penalty try decisions.
It seems an eternity since that has happened.
I would feel comfortable under those circumstances.

I've been on the Roosters to miss the 8 bandwagon since Rnd 9-10ish. Honestly a bit shocked that it's still a possibility - because some of the footy they've played is not what you'd expect from a bottom 8 team. That 4 week period where they lost to Raiders, Storm, Eels and Panthers has cruelled them. They played well enough to win all, and came away with nothing.

Honestly think Storm will beat them tonight, and hope that Canberra win tomorrow to make next week interesting.

Having said that, Canberra have only won 3 in a row once this year, and will probably need to make it 4 next week to make the 8. Not sure they have the intestinal fortitude to pull it off.

And if it comes down to a showdown next week between the Roosters and Rabbits, everyone wins - because both teams are dangerous as hell. Would hate to play one of them in Week 2 of the finals though!

My predicted bottom 4 is:
5. Eels
6. Rabbits
7. Raiders
8. Broncos

Funnily, the teams that I'd be most confident in facing during the finals are Cowboys and Sharks. Despite their positions on the ladder, I think their offensive games are the least threatening to us.

That is the same bottom 4 as I have

I think Parra are a serious threat if they can get past Week 1 of finals. Head in the stand stuff if you think they can't challenge us, they've rattled us the last 3 times we've played them.

IF being the key word,

What has changed with them over the last few years?

Parra are the team I'd feel least comfortable facing in the finals and I really hope we dodge them. They account for what is it, half our losses this decade?

Agree that Moses is a downhill skier, but I could see him having his tail up against us and playing very well. His kicking game is one of the few that at least approaches Nathans and when they're confident they look like Souths putting the ball through the hands. We are light years ahead of them in terms of consistency but that doesn't really matter over the course of a single 80 minutes.

Just remember, The NRL does a buy back for your unwanted Grand Final tickets.

You guys do this to yourself every year and the result is always the same, And it is glorious

I just see it as a game. I mean I'd rather we win and enjoy it but I wake up the next day feeling the same way. It doesn't effect my emotions that much. But I'm early 40s a grown adult. I assume your just a young bloke full of testosterone early 20s who takes his NRL a little more seriously

Parra and Storm for me. Parra can scores three tries in a blink of the eye, and then you are playing from behind against a team that has the size to go with us in the trenches.

I’m still not convinced by the Roosters. Think you can bully them.
