our main problem

i agree our roster is a huge problem , but come on guys he continually picks hicks and walker instead of blooding new fresh faces.
our halves arent cronk and finch so they cant guide the team around like he'd experianced in melbourne

and dont tell me he hasnt told the players not to offload, in 09 hindy cayless and even fui would hit and spin and try an offload, which is where hayne burt and mortimer would come into there own.

hayne hasnt tried a chip and chase all year ( wonder why) instead he's been getting the ball and having a runner sweep behind for the most predictable play in the game.
hayne should be getting the ball at unpredictable time in unpredictable places.

i know we'll be better next year and i know SK can coach, i just dont thick he can coach us this year

I believe we would have made the 8 had we played to the playing rosters strengths.

Whose f**king strengths is that going to play to? Mateo, Inu, Grothe, Kingston and Cayless?

None of those merkins are at the club any more. They're not going to help us and neither is that style.

Ah... not really. He only played 5 first grade games this year. I'd hardly call that "continually picked". And just to rub more egg in your face, Hicks has only played 4 games this year too.

Sandow = brains trust.

As funny or scary as that sounds - it is actually an improvement.

Still, nothing is as funny as the battery ram.

I have laughed out loud about five times today thinking of that.

it kind of detracted from the overall thrust of the rant I thought.

What makes this topic look bad is that even opposition fans can see that the roster is the big problem. How anyone thinks our roster can compare to most other teams is beyond me. Some Eels fans even think this roster should have made the eight! I'm starting to think their agendas are getting in the way of logical deduction.

maybe some people don't have agendas??? maybe they just want their team to be successful and win some games - ever consider that??? sure the squad wasn't isn't fantastic, but it also nowhere near as bad as some people are making out (ie. Hayne, Mannah, Hindy, Fui, Burt, Smith, Keating, etc), and i personally believe that perhaps those people are attempting to float their own agendas

take 2012, SK wants to (assumedly) continue with this plodding, stingy, tight, no mistakes, solid Melbourne-type style of football and people say we just haven't had the players for that style this year, but SK is bringing in an instinctive, play by the seat of your pants style halfback that just backs himself when he feels right, in Sandow...????? Roberts at his....*sigh* best  is also an instinctive player as well?? So really i remain uncertain about where SK has the team heading, but am more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for next year - with the squad he wants - no excuses next year though........

lol, logical deduction

I thought Kearney could do no wrong in your eyes Poupou? You're hard to follow sometimes, whenever the wind changes...

I agree with the OP. I expect Kearney will produce great things with NZ in the post-season, but have not been convinced by his week to week tactics yet.
I think Pou was being his usually witty self Bartman, u know he thinks Kearneys shit dont stink.

That included you before the season started Boxy. Some people have short memories. Maybe you should consider that before accusing other people of having "agendas" so to speak.

i've gotta say ED, i was of the same opinion as you on this subject, that perhaps Boxy was part of that very same brigade??? i couldn't remember for sure though, but you seem to think the same??

Yes, but our backline - with the exception of Hayne and Burt - is the worst in the comp, surely? Our 'spine' consists of Jarryd Hayne - full stop. I know Matt Keating is fairly solid, but he`s not exactly a creative force. And we have no half and no five-eight. I think we`ve over-achieved so far. With our side, we should have won the wooden spoon weeks ago.

lingard,

our backline is and has been a shambles no arguement there, but injuires and inconsistent selection policies have been mostly to blame for that......

in terms of the *sigh* spine.....Hayne, Burt and MK make a decent trio, but we have NO HALFBACK (or other split half) right now, at all. Bring back Morts!!!

I don't put myself into any category mate. I just say it as I see it. But I don't think it's fair for someone to label others as having "agendas" simply they don't agree with your opinion. Hence my comment.

If we've over-achieved I'd hate to see how many games we'd have won if we'd under-achived... or even achieved as expected.
