I'll make the point mate that if the brawl was as you described, the police won't just jump straight into it if it means there is a risk of them getting injured, whether it be by intention or accident. Its a fair enough tactic because a police officer is useless if they have to spend 3 hours getting stitches from an accidental punch when they should be on the streets. I'm sure they were not just watching for the sake of it.

mate your trying really hard to put the blame on us. Is it because we had 100 supporters? If there was only 2 of us would it make any difference?

Mate the police are there to protect. They only stepped in once we started to fight back. This guy was throwing wild punches and they stood back and did nothing. they didnt even call a first aid person to attend to my cousins bleeding mouth.

your gutless mate.

mate its the police we are complaining about. we are showing it to a higher authority because they DID NOT HELP US when we were being attacked.

Why are you trying so hard to find us guilty of something. The panthers army group travel to away games and one day will cop what we did. I hope you guys dont, but you will and thats what its like in newcaslte, thus the reason they have a curfew.

good on you.

if everything you say is true, and it sounds like it was, and the cops did nothing, i hope they get sacked.

I went up to see a Sharks, Knights game in Newcastle a fair few years ago now. But just wanted to add something...I went up with my parents as a teenager excited to go to Newcastle's home ground for the first time only to come home scared of ever going back. We sat with the Sharks group of supporters, we never did anything wrong to other supporters but whenever the Sharks scored points old men behind us would throw beer bottles (sometimes full of beer) at all of us. If the Sharks had've won that game i would not be surprised if something would've happened like with you guys. I'll probably never go back to Newcastle for a rugby league match...and why would i, not much has changed

Ok so I was right in the middle of the incidents and two altercations
Bottom line
We done nothing wrong , the first bloke came into the middle of us and gave us sh*t for no less then 15minutes he then got really rowdy and started the pushing business with no real malice or intent , but seeing all the testosterone and adreline rushes as soon as a full on push was made it was all in brawl , the second one was nothing more then a drunk hero hitting everything that he could , he got what he deserved...

The police at Newcastle were disgusting.

I think i know he has some, well alot of video evidence of all the officers involved standing there like pot plants, plus of relevant members of our visitors being the proactive ones and ushering everyone away and attempting to defuse the situation. Including the lovely young lady who was called a SL*T. She showed more backbone then all those police put together and stood proud and kept herself composed after being ridiculed and insulted beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Will be interesting to see what comes of this.[/quote]

hey everyone.

that young lady that got harassed and abused by the cop is my sister. and just to keep u all up to date, as im typing this up the media are currently interviewing her. im not stopping until i get that PIGS name. no matter what it takes and how long it takes.:x

Hi guys, sorry to invade your threads but I have been reading all this since seeing the first post by the Newcastle supporter.

Every team has a small percentage of complete tossers who behave like idiots. It shouldn't suggest however that all fans of that particular club are the same.

I hope those responsible for what happened in Newcastle are taken to task, but don't hold your breath for it to happen. As always the he said she said, they did this and they did that garbage will go on and on.

As a Sharks supporter I know only to well the name calling and rubbish that goes on between our two supporter bases, you are the dragqueens and we are the shire scum, but I think generally we all take that stuff with good humour. When it comes to racial abuse, letting off flares, abusing young girls and throwing punches over a football game, we know where the wosrt of the minority fans come from.

Have a great day and smile, you won

When the Sharks supporter group came into Kogarah last year, they were chanting and carrying on, and made a point of getting in the ear of Saints supporters throughout the match. They certainly made every effort be heard the moment they started their way around the lower concourse.

The Sharks won the game that day, and it was a firey match with Dykes and Gallen taking dives and a Saints forward Peek being sent off.

And there was the infamous collasping fence incident. lol.

Sharks supporters were giving plenty of mouth, rubbing it in, but they also had plenty to cheer about that day. And there were words exchanged on both sides at the game and on these forums afterwards.

But they were just words... nothing more. There were no reports of retribution or violence that I know of.

Even the fence took it on the chin.

As we exited the stadium after the win we were abused and sworn at by many different types of people. In fairness to them, we were singing and chanting, but we were not making fun, abusing anyone or teasing them I guess after losing the game they would be upset, but what happened after that.............................sh*t i didnt expect it.

We were abused by this guy who was about 45 to 50 years old, and he followed us out from the hill and to the car park and started pushing one of the guys who was with us. We all run over and try to pull them away from each other and get to our buses. This guy just kept coming at us and we had about 7 guys trying to defend themselves from him. This guy was VERY intoxicated and could hardly stand. his own family were getting in the middle and trying to stop it all. We kind of broke that little thing up and move on and to my great surprize there is another BIG buy throwing full punches at my friends because they swore back at his female friend who was yelling abuse at us. (this is the lady we have been accused by macavity of hitting even tjough he was not there). This big guy was throwing punches at EVERYONE. my friend who was in the parra jersey who came along on the bus for the fun of it got in the middle and tried to calm this guy down, but this guy would NOT calm down and kept throwing punces at people. So my parra friend put him in a grip and we all started looking for the POLICE. To our greater surprize they were standing there watching and doing nothing. It was only till another passenger on the bus defended himself by punching this man when he came at him with his fist clenched and ready to swing that the police step in. between all that happening my cousin who is 16, got hit in the mouth with a helmet and punched also. The police took this big guy behind the police 4WD and hid him from us when we were asking to have him arrested, instead they took our friend who punched the big guy and started pushing him around and taking his details.

NOW the part that made this whole situation worse was the police men (both of whom ride dirt bikes in police gear) swore at two girls who were trying to stop them from pushing our friend around even though he was standing there and not resisting them. They turned to one girl and called her a s**t and turned to the other girl and called her a merkin. there was plenty of police present and non of them apparently heard this. I stepped in trying to keep people calm as I had spoken to the officer from Waratah police and told him we are not trouble makers. I got everyone to the bus and then tried to get some details from the police present. NON of them would even help me. they looked at me like I was a criminal and laughed at me.

I promise you this. This will hit the media and I will go to the police minister and request these * police apologise to these girls for swearing at them.

BTW Macavity, we have it all on camera and its cristal clear mate. I think your supporters a great, but just like all the other teams in the NRL there are some bad apples. They were out tonight and we didnt provoke any of them. maybe you should refrain from posting things that are un true because some of the guys are seriouslty looking at defemation for your untrue words.

We have 100 witnesses and they are ready to step in and defend each other. I tell you what. We did what the police wanted and didnt waive the flags unless we scored. We had no complaints and we enjoyed the trip.

I hope you do take it further mate, and mention it to that Clown Ray Hadley who loves stirring sh*te.

I too and my girlfriend were also abused by some Newcastle tools.

Walking back to the car and gettin called names etc, go back to the Gong. Funny that I live in Sydney.

To top it all off we almost got run over by a newcastle supporter driving a 4WD in the carpark. Stupid lunatic.

This is a joke! Every team has dickhead supporters. a couple of years ago i was at a saints tigers game at homebush and these 3 tigers fans were yelling at me and my mate and our girlfriends and when i told them to stop being assholes and enjoy the win they staunched up and tried to punch on!

Your a dope mate. The major put that video up just to show the number of police presence. Not to prove we were right and they were wrong.

lol.

truth is a defence to defamation.

I understand I was imflammatory in the first post. and I apologised for that.

but what happened, happened. whether any of you saw it or not, it happened. a guy in a red v, whether part of your army or not, hit a chick. as confirmed by a dogs fan who was there, she had injuries from the assult.

i have no doubt some newcastle fans burred up at you guys. we have our share of idiots too. chanting "s**t" at a woman is hardly going to help though, is it?

the "official" version where one guy (who apparently could hardly stand) just decides takes on 100 of you for no reason and is still swinging, is a bit hard to believe.

i dont want RL to get another bad wrap, and I wish I hadn't posted after the game because of that. but I was absolutely disgusted by what i saw, and I know what I saw.

love the character assassination too. quality stuff.

accept an apology for my imflammatory remarks, and lets move on.
