Aussies were a bit clunky in their first game, hard to see that lasting - there's always a chance, but you'd think 20+ tbh

They were, and Tonga tried to hang on for 80 mins. They did a pretty reasonable job but were never going to get close.

I hope picking Kini at 1 suggests we're going to try and score points and throw caution to the wind

This is the first I remember, as well.

Was it the same series we got pumped in Palmy North and the fans kept stealing the balls after touch finders? 🤣
The fans were openly swigging from spirit bottles during that game and throwing bottles/cans at the Kangaroos. I don't think there's been a test there since. Gary Freeman tried to get Big Mal to walk off the field and cancel the game cos we were losing. We didn't get pumped though. It was close. The first test was a draw.

Who else ?

need to get kini in the team and he can only realistically play fullback.
Kodi or Phoenix who finished the season in the 7 for Newcastle. CNK at 6 is a massive worry for me. Hopefully he gets subbed off quick. Stacey's going with a Nigel Vagana at 6 style selection like 05-06.

Just been to the Breakers, less said about their effort the better, but sitting near me had Halligan, Kearney, Blair, Price (coach version) and Motu Tony.

I didn’t mind the Aussie vs Tonga game. The intensity was there even though the combinations looked rusty for both teams.
This Kiwi game will be even more interesting, especially as the Kiwis have gone all out with selections.

Which is why they stacked the tournament so they catch the Kiwis flat footed and cold.
Bs draw per usual to favor them.

Epic test match so far. The Ferns were controlling all the running and hand them on the rack till typically a weak ref called a flat pass forward and killed the momentum.

The Ref sounds like he is apologizing every time he rules against the Roos.

Credit to the coaches this Kiwis womens side are well drilled, especially all their defensive work in camp.
Replacements will be critical with our side being so stretched.

My Brother and his missus who is an ex Fern flew down to CH CH from Aucks for this game, they will be enjoying it even tho we are behind.
This game is well poised for a Ferns come back.

That half was the best defence NZ womens has ever played in my years of viewing.

Come on New Zealand. I am amping....love womens league anyway, but always amp up on game day of the Kiwis, double buzz at mine today, Kai and Beer locked and loaded.

Gee another tough tackle ruled illegal by this sanitized game. Man the players bodyline did not go past the horizontal so where is the problem?

Shut out for the Ferns they will be better for the hit out and looked well up for it for the majority of the contest, should be a good final.
