Usually agree with you mate - but not so much here.
Brennan has been made 2IC? Surely that's good?
Rothfield is never right, and if anyone looks at Gould's career he's no idiot - from effectively being player coach at Souths to now, he's achieved more than most.
That said, I am puzzled by Griffin
That's great, it puts Brennan one step closer to being a head coach. Unfortunately it also means he will be doing his apprenticeship under Griffin, who showed major flaws at Brisbane.
My issue is that Gould said again and again that Brennan was NRL ready and every time a job came up, he said he'd fit it. Then when one at his own club came up, he gave it to someone with a very unimpressive CV. If Gould is such a maestro (and I agree, he's done a lot in his career) and he thinks Brennan is so red-hot, he should have appointed him and taken him under his wing. He's won premierships, Origins and above all he made Ricky Stuart look like a decent coach, so he should be best placed to do so.
Gould as I said has achieved a lot but to me he's taking on all the appearances of a man who gets more stubborn, more pig headed, more completely set in his ways each year. That doesn't work in league. You can see it in the way he calls the game, the decisions he makes and the fact he's just fired Ivan Cleary a year early to take on a guy that I doubt anyone in the world can make a case for being anywhere as good as Ivan.
But yeah sorry I got carried on Rothfield. Knows the ball is oval and that's about it.
