That's super rough for Staines. Seems like a fairly easy rule to misinterpret. Fletchers statement is pretty strong too which seems harsh if there's not more to the story.

Big night out indeed.

Not really. The CEO's know how quickly this could all turn to mush if players and hangers on are not prepared to adhere to the letter of the covid bubble stuff. It could all come crashing down.

Lockjaw can be caused by an infections, from gritting your teeth or having your head and neck pushed all pulled around.

It also states that this is an ongoing issue for Staines with it happening in pre-season.

Why is the CEO 'brain dead'. There are obviously procedures that must happen when a player gets injured or sick whilst at home. All cubs (especially during Covid19) have a step by step process to maintain the 'bubble'

Stop trying to hang poo when the CEO and the club are attempting to play by the current rules.

The CEO is trying to talk tough on a kid who had to go to hospital. He deserves all the poo he gets.

Every player knows to call Shane Elford if not life threatening and the friends over do the same

Do you not remember the outrage at the NRL starting? The rules are harsh but need to be followed. So of course front office would be annoyed at a preventable breach

He went off about Staines not calling the club at 2:30am when he had to go to hospital. Sorry but there's no defending that.

Our CEO has done nothing wrong. 'Charlie has been extremely naive and breached the protocols that are there to protect the game'.

True.

Going to an A and E durning covid again not a smart move. The club doctor should be the first phone call. He left himself open to infection.

You can't gloss this over. CEO has done the right thing on this occassion.

Just because you don't like the CEO, doesn't mean you have the right to make stuff up.

Don't you understand there are step by step rules in place for when illness and injury occurs duing covid.

Going to A and E leaves himself open to a hotbed of potential covid infections.

Because a kid with lockjaw of all things is going to be thinking straight at that time of the morning. Some logic people. Nothing wrong with giving him a talking to privately about the protocols but no reason to come out harsh on him in the media.

He needed to do it in public to maintain the goodwill of everyone. Again firm words but not overly harsh.

'His misunderstanding of the specifics of guidlines can't be overlooked.'

Now working with the NRL to make sure appropriate steps are taken.

You do know there is a big Corona testing setup at Nepean hospital?

Cleary went to Norwest not Nepean when he was in.

Which he no doubt would of been told to him if the club was notified

You're having a separate conversation to me. I'm not saying what Staines did was correct. I'm saying Fletcher is a mong for trying to talk tough at the kid publicly.

The club were aware of Charlie's cohort of friends and family. They should have (and may have) grabbed him before he left the playing group and said "enjoy yourself tonight, but remember rule A, B and C".

If this didn't occur, the club has failed him and their duty of care over him in regards to the COVID protocols.

Regarding the visit to emergency, he was probably very drunk, and very disoriented when the lockjaw hit. I can understand him and his friends going to emergency in that case without contacting the club. That would be the naivety that Fletcher refered to.

Hopefully no harm done in terms of his health, and hopefully he gets another crack in the NRL this season too
