Must be some good grass to be able to play on it straight away. Obviously it's not like the strips you do your lawn with.

STRATHAYR MEGAYR TURF

In all seriousness, a fungal disease wouldn't cause the extent of the damage the field has now. It looks like there is basically no root system to the couch base.

It was evident watching the coverage from round one something was up and it's only compounded over recent weeks (much like our team)

It's uncharacteristic as it's normally up with the best surfaces in the league.
Some fungal diseases eat the root system or should i say cause it to rot away, with all the rain it would have been near imposiable to kill the disease the best coarse of action was to re turf and they were planing on doing it after this round as there is a few weeks break til the next home game but there hand was forced by the panthers complaining about it last week.

Of course there is, Brown Patch, ERI or pythium all can cause issues with root systems but they are not going to cause the end result we have been seeing.

The rain isn't an issue other than inconvenience, hell you could even use it to wash in the fungicides to the target area ;-) low light levels that we have seen this summer would be a bigger drama ](*,)but that still wouldn't cause the visible problems.

This is in no way a go at the guys at Parra, the field has constantly over the years been one of the best in the NRL, I just prefer we weren't expected to swallow the dross fed to the media
