Actually I was at that first game - the night Manly belted us in both games at Parra Stadium. My first live Eels game in two years. Pauli Pauli was massive that night on the right hand side. Ordinary in defence but. I didn't realise it was his first game of the year in the second row.

Yeah I guess. I never know how much they're using NYC to prepare players for higher grades or whether they're just trying to win games. Though when Vai Toutai started the year (and made nearly every one of his NYC appearances) on the wing I figured he was being prepped for senior footy. But Pauli just doesn't seem a good enough defender for an NRL edge forward. I assumed he was moved out wide to give our under 20s some attacking punch.

I think our NYC's were toast by that stage!

But he is an arm grabber in D. If he learns to slide this year, the kid could be anything

All things being equal, I think I can make Brookie this week. I'll get in on a round of shouts too if anyone is keen.

hoppa n tonga r injury prone
?

Hopoate i dont think was seleceted for the first few rounds and played about 18 or 19 games in his last (aka second) year not counting origin games during which he would've missed one or two club games. Not sure how he can be labelled injury prone, especially considering his age at the time, given he played close to all games when he was not on rep duty for since his initial selection.

I don't suppose this is being broadcast on any Northern Territory community radio stations or anything is it?

94.9 Alice Springs FM will be beaming in commentary from the great Ray Warren. They will also be taking calls from listeners before the game. Whoever gets closest in the pick the score comp will win a big f**k off 2L stubbie of beer.

I'll definitely be tuning in.

You're not wrong there...and you could probably throw in TLL also...
Thank God he has better resilience than Dave Woods though. There is a bloke whose career was 'shot to bits' by injury. "Cooda been a contender"

Well, I got me a fine wife, I got me old fiddle
When the sun's comin' up I got cakes on the griddle
Life ain't nothin' but a funny, funny riddle
Thank God I'm a country boy

Did he get injured during his Mormon mission? "No, brother, I can't knock on doors today, I've done my hamstring. I'll just stay in bed thanks. And turn the light off on your way out."

A bloke from Sydney drove his car into a ditch in a desolated area between Booligal and Ivanhoe. Luckily, a local farmer came to help with his big strong horse named Buddy.
He hitched Buddy up to the car and yelled, "Pull, Nellie, pull." Buddy didn't move. Then the farmer hollered, "Pull, Buster, pull."
Buddy didn't respond. Once more the farmer commanded, "Pull, Jennie, pull." Nothing.
Then the farmer nonchalantly said, "Pull, Buddy, pull." And the horse easily dragged the car out of the ditch.
The city-slicker was most appreciative and very curious. He asked the farmer why he called his horse by the wrong name three times. The farmer said, "Oh, Buddy is blind, and if he thought he was the only one pulling, he wouldn't even try!"

The city slicker noticed a lot of flies around Old Buddy..He asked the farmer "Do you ever shoo them?"
To which the farmer replied.."Nah, we just let em get around barefoot!"
