dude you said that trials mean nothing and NOW you're saying that they mean "match fitness, new combinations, give young blokes a run, take games to the country, celebrate the return of footy season"

so which is it? lol
in meaning nothing, trials arent a radar to guage where one will finish at the end of the season.

they do help the coach tremendously though with what was said above.

Three tries in 10 minutes got Penrith home 26-24 against Parramatta tonight in Port Macquarie - but it was a close call.

Joel Clinton won Man of the Match.

John Lang said later that he was happy with the build-up so far.

John had high praise for Clinton and for Craig Gower. He'd never seen Gower so sharp this early in the year.

No injuries came out of the game for Penrith.

Penrith 26 (Nick Youngquest 2, Danny Galea, Lee Hookey, Paul Aiton tries; Shane Rodney 2, Preston Campbell 1 goals) defeated
Parramatta 24 (Luke Burt 3, Wade McKinnon, Eric Grothe tries; Brett Delaney 1,
Luke Burt 1 goals)
At Port Macquarie

Was an exciting game.

Starved of possession early and Penrith got the jump on us.

We came back into it strong taking the lead just before half time.

Arm wrestle in the second half. Most our tries were scored out wide hence the poor kicking.

All in all not a bad game. Few things to improve on.

And yes Timmy, is gone for the season..........
(joking btw...)
