And I won't reveal my name as I'm not here to win any favours from any mods from the other site for giving my reasons for backing them . One guys calling me a sycophant and another wants me to give myself up to the guys I'm supposedly sucking up to ..

Maybe you should be called The ColOn . I'd say the reaction from most here warrants the explanation of Fitzys involvement . Talk about alarmists .

Witty.

My comments aren't in regard to Fitzy but read into it what you will. Most will tell you I don't care much for the current mob anyway.

I just like reading nospam46. It is a jolly good laugh.

Really ? So even as long as nobody's personally attacked , defamed or no unsubstantiated rumours or accusations are made we still can't debate these matters ?

That's the problem around here when it comes to election, you can't have discussion without it degenerating into a deleted thread.

It is a general statement and not intended for anyone specific, I just remember last time is all.

I'm not aligned with anyone and I quite enjoy the banter that goes on.

Wow, you must breath a great deal as it is only for those top 500 producers of Carbon.

Yeah we all breathe out carbon dioxide, however the amount of CO2 produced by us is natural, vs the over production of CO2 that happens when we burn coal.

If the other life forms were doing a good enough job of scrubbing the CO2 out of the air we would be fine, but they aren't so we need to plant more trees and reduce the amount of non naturally produced CO2 to get the balance right.
yeah plenty.

if the carbon tax actually worked i'd be all for it. but to me all it looks like is a new way of taxing people to prop up the projected surplus. and when i say taxing people i mean that indirectly the tax on big companies will be filtered down to the regular people, it won't stop or reduce pollution.

i see it as nothing more than a pathetic attempt by an inept government (and yeah i voted for them) to sway green votes and grab more tax revenue.

Sounds like you actually do want my number the way you're carrying on . I'm into long walks on the beach if that helps you .
You've done anything but answer the question, if you were just a casual poster on the other site you wouldn't have cared if you revealed who you are. So who are you Snake,Jimmy or JPav?????

If the goverment had a stronger majority in the lower house it would be for all I suspect or it might not have happened. Depends on how the senate would react.

Yeah the money go round view is quite prevelant, and could be true until you factor in that the price these companies are paying to the goverment they will soon have to pay elsewhere to get their carbon credits, when Australia joins the world of International Carbon trading.

i see it as nothing more than a pathetic attempt by an inept government (and yeah i voted for them) to sway green votes and grab more tax revenue.

A Majority voted in Kevin, and wanted him to ratify the Kyoto Protocol. Kyoto includes the ability to reduce our GHG by "Flexible Mechanism" which is where International Carbon Trading comes from and this price readies Australia for it and should see us reach our Kyoto goals.
