Yep, distribution to rich blokes in China and India. Politically conservative ones at that.

Greens/Labor voters would love that shit.

My figures are solid, MITS.

50ppm = 0.005% of the atmosphere.

Of that, Australia has contributed 1.4% = <1ppm = 0.0007%.

We're seeking a reduction of 5% of our 1.4% = 35ppt = 0.000035% of the atmosphere.

There will be absolutely ZERO effect from our actions (and that's assuming anthropogenic carbon emissions even have any significant effect at all).

Yep, let's tax us billions for it!

It's wealth redistribution, watermelon style!

Mate, I never one said anything about Climate change, you did, but yes it will change something, it will change the view, I might be able to see the blue mountains from my office on a clear day instead of a brown smog that hangs over the Sydney Basin.

It will change my need to stay inside on bad "Smog" days as a chronic asthmatic. It will change so much and at worst it might cost someone who earns what I earn, $3.50 a day if I don't change the way I live and find ways to use less electricity or be more energy efficient.

Having said that my Family have always been about energy efficiency, we had bats installed in our roof in the late 70's, 30 years before a policy had to be drawn up to tell you it was a more energy efficient way of living. We have had solar hot water since Australia won the America's cup and have reaped the benefits ever since. CF's or LED lights before they were common place all to make our little house more energy efficient and run cheaper. Our Energy provider generates 10% of our power via renewable, and that is what the policy is about.

The Policy is in place to make coal powered electricity the same cost as other renewable forms of electricity, and hence making it economical to switch to renewable energy sources so we can continue a sustainable pathway.

Also sustainable power generation worldwide is becoming cheaper, so soon the major providers might find it even cheaper to switch to renewable energy generation.

Either way it is better than the Liberal policy of Direct abatement, which would mean a direct tax on all Australians to pay for the man made CO2 produced by private companies.

It will cost jobs (new jobs, so if you've already got a job you probably don't give a f**k) and it will cost economic growth which will be the difference between retiring in dignity or poverty for a lot of people. You might not care now but eventually this country will be full of old people living (for a long time) under the poverty line. You could be one of them.

great work in trying to reduce your footprint but i didn't see you mention anything about offsetting the number of plane trips/car trips you make throughout the season.

I pay for offsets on every flight I take. Last year that was only 4 (well down on previous years). As for the car I keep upgrading to make sure it is fuel efficent and meets emission standards. Looking at the XR6 LPG for next year. Kinky little package so the same numbers as a Petrol XR6 but a drasticlly lower emissions rating.

Having said all of that I am a bit of a rev head, and used to purchase abaintments through V8 Racing Green. But can't seem to get that now :(

I wonder how the gains in efficiency stack up against the additional cost to the environment to produce this new car every couple of years, and deliver it?

Well to figure that out you would also need to consider the less efficient cars that are being taken off the road because they are no longer viable against the 1 owner cars being disposed off.

My cars are my vice true, but still I do as best I can by the environment for having them. Most of my driving is either to the train station to got to work or distance driving out of the Sydney Basin.

You can buy power for Australians from overseas. Plenty of countries find it cheaper than producing their own.

And you don't have to mine Australian minerals at all. There's plenty of minerals in the ground all over the world. If ours are too expensive to get out of the ground they will be too expensive to sell on the world market. That would defeat the purpose of mining them in the first place.

Swanny didn't even see that coming hey?

Actually infrastructure spending couldn't have blown out as Swan didn't include most of it in the original budget. The NBN roll out and similar projects were deemed "off budget" expenditure and were never included in the budget.

Swanny biggest stuff up was his projections from the mining tax. To date instead of collecting the billions he predicted he has not collected a cent. he didn't understand his own tax and the mining companies took full advantage when they made their deals with the government.

Not in Australia yet, but yes, Ford make 2 hybrids, the Escape and the Fusion.

Best thing about Hybrids is you can go camping and leave the radio on for over 3 days without it going flat . Worst thing is on a daily basis you forget it's running and you get out shut the door and attempt to go shopping with the car still running in the carpark .

And this is the Paranoia I was expecting from this campaign, anyone running against the current board has to have the backing and blessing of Denis, because he is the deposed king and like Voldermort the one who should not be named.

But wouldn't trust any sources you mention entirely, both for and against because this is the Elections, and perception and reality are often a long way from each other.

Just to clarify it was the final PSEC meeting of the year and the AGM

I wouldn't call it a stage, but he did get up to speak

I arrived late to this meeting, but by the time I arrived, Roy along with Ricky, Sid Kelly and Mario Libertini, during the 15 minutes that Steve was on stage he was asked a question and he attempted to bounce it to Roy, but Roy replied that Steve was on the Board and could answer it and he did. During this time Ken Edwards arrived in the room

I wouldn't say that was the cause, more the questions being asked from what I saw.

No, No, no and no. Roy got the same amount of applause as Steve, Ricky and Ken got the loudest applause of the night and Steve and Phil Sim and others stayed to talk during the break before the AGM indeed I spoke with Phil and Sid Kelly both at the same time for 5 minutes

Like a 2 year old, OK. You are imagining the boggy man under you bed.

If that is your case, it is circumstantial, based on 2nd hand non verified evidence and has more holes than a sieve.

Maybe it is true that Denis is pulling the strings, Just like others were "pulling the strings" of Price, Leabeater, Kenny and Grothe when the election of 09 started the only unfortunate thing is that the facts are often the first victim of the election cycle.
Well done MITS. Some sanity...

It saddens me to see this once great club suffer these difficulties once again.
It seems this is a regular occurrence at the Eels with massive in-fighting amongst the different groups. If you're not all heading in the same direction, this will continue to bite you on your arses.
A bloody shame if you can't get your back office in order once and for all.

As an outsider, why does this happen...continuously? You have had some of the best players in the history of the game, yet it appears they all hate each other??
Has to be disruptive to new coach and squad...
(Serious question guys)
