Parramatta Eels AGM - Sunday 14th December 10am - At Parra Leagues

Do we know who counts the votes? I don't trust that they will be counted correctly! DF certainly does not seem trustworthy to me!

The returning officer is the same as it has been for the last 10 years. I can't remember her name, be the Lady that does it, along with her team of volunteers are the same group that do not only our elections but the Elections at the Tigers, I believe the Bulldogs and various other RSL and Leagues clubs in the greater Sydney area. They are completely impartial.

I do also remember after the last "Serious" challenge to the board from the NPT that while walking into the league club, a bloke handing out NPT how to vote cards was telling everyone to vote in pen as "they" can rub out pencil and change your vote!

Arhh good time and paranoia.

8) Notice(s) of Motions
Has the club advised (voting) members at all how they might go about putting a notice on motion...?

I can see this part of the annual meeting(s) being of more use in getting some things that the broader membership might want done within the club than the election of directors itself to be honest.

That was in your Notification of the AGM letter.

Ah, cheers MITS.

Will be interesting to see if any members make use of that this time around.

I for one can see Notices on Motion being used extensively by members for the 2009 AGM on an issue-by-issue basis, no matter the composition of the Board, seeing as there will be no election for anyone to worry about.

Hi Macnaz,

The article in the newspaper about the rally can be found in this thread: http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=214827

You'll find a range of opinion about the rally in that thread. It's not really related to the Football Club Board elections, as Denis Fitzgerald is a contracted employee and not up for election or ousting as such.

The main way Parramatta supporters can get involved or participate in the direction of their club is by becoming voting members of the Leagues Club and/or Football Club, something that is subject to the payment of annual fees and a waiting period.

how do we submit proxy votes, anyone ?

i would assume there would be proxy forms posted out when the ballot is finalized.

I am sorry to inform you gentlemen that there is no proxy voting in the Football Club AGM. There has never been proxy voting since the club came into existence in 1947. There was a motion to allow proxy voting at the club in the mid 90's the club under took an investigation on having proxy voting, and on the advise of their lawyers, decided against it. For what reasons I do not know as I didn't push that point.

Well, Twiz has just wasted $75, as would many others, as I believe that the primary motivation of joining the Football Club, was to vote and have a say in how it is run.

He could of course, fly to Sydney, pay for meals and accomodation etc......

Wow, I'm more confused then ever.........
on the advice of their lawyers,
WTF? :?

Yeah... that part did confuse me as well.
Im disappointed TBH

Ye, me too.

I'm disappointed for all the people who joined up thinking they would be able to have a small part to play in this club.

The "little boys club" evidence grows.
