Question, Why do you have to say this, why can't Roy or the like say this on their own behalf.

They had a website, surely it isn't that hard to add such statements to a website and then point jounos and members to it, instead of relying on your good self Jodeci, to post on his behalf to this site.

I'm saying this as it's getting too repetitive and very boring.

In time he may do this but now is not the time and when everything is over, I believe he will.

Problem is MITS, if he was to write it, what would be people's impression?

"Oh he is just saying that"
"He got suspended, etc"
"Cry me a river Spags"
"Get over it Spags"

If people want to judge him or if people already have an opinion of him, what's an article going to do for him?

Let's get a few facts correct here and this will be the last time I talk about this because quite frankly it's getting tired and boring of the same sh!t regarding the rubbish we continue to read. Thank god these AGM?s come around once a year.

The Season Tickets that were purchased by Roy were for 3rd party sponsors and corporates. These were sponsor commitments from prior to 2009, Being the commencement of the new Board?s tenure, and when the commitment was concluded Roy asked for these to be invoiced to the individuals. They were invoiced and subsequently paid.

The 900 page Russell Report which the newly elected board did only produced 1 thing against Roy, that Bob Bentley's bonus which as in his contract and signed by all board directors was paid after the elections and before the financial year. It was a contractual obligation and it had to be paid.

Roy was never suspended or found guilty of any wrong doings and the board reprimanded Roy without understanding the implications in the Constitution, which resulted in Roy not able to run for Board for 2 years. OLGR (Office Liquor Gaming and Racing) have gone through the 900 page report and are continuing their investigations into matters that have occurred over the last 18 months interviewing both directors and staff members of the Leagues Club.

Regarding the possible payout to Bob Bentley, why didn't the club negotiate a payout or settled this when they terminated his services rather sacking Bob and now the club has been taken to court and could put the Leagues Club out of pocket up to $550,000? If it's the same lawyer from the AGM, the club could be in a bit of strife.

Regarding the actual financials for the Leagues Club, what the overall figures don't show
you is the following:

Profit $3.8 mil. The NRL grant that each club gets was $7.1 mil up from the previous year of
$4.3 mil (that's an extra $2.7 mil). Property valuations up $1,4 mil. If the NRL gave clubs the
same grant like 2012, we actually made a loss for the first time since 2008. We can count our
lucky stars that the TV deal gives more clubs a bigger grant now.

2008: NRL Grant $3.1 mil Profit -$9.1 mil
2009: NRL Grant $3.1 mil Profit $1.1 mil
2010: NRL Grant $3.4 mil Profit $3.3 mil
2011: NRL Grant $3.6 mil Profit $5.2 mil
2012: NRL Grant $4.3 mil Profit $5.3 mil
2013: NRL Grant $7.1 mil Profit $3.3 mil

You have to give credit when it's due and Bob deserved it making $15 mil profit over those years as well as the reno's that took place.

People can sit here and whinge that they sold some units, they were instructed to do this from
the bank to reduce the debit the Leagues Club occurred in 2008.

I think Roy decided not to sue Mr Barrett from the SMH cause the article clearly showed no proof or
evidence of any misconduct and he firmly believes if the members want to believe that story
without seeking the truth, then that's their opinion and they are entitled to it. Both Glenn Jackson
and Danny Weidler both phoned Roy to retaliate but I believe he doesn't feel he needs to set the record
straight cause those who know him, know he is an honourable man.

Still to today, people like Aunty Kaye, Nathan Cayless, Luke Burt, Craig Catterick, Hayden Knowles, Wayne Beavis, Brian Smith, Nick Politis, Ray Dib and more have the ultimate respect for Roy and I've seen this with my own eyes.

Yes they may have been able to do some things better along the way, which they will probably agree, but it's a learning process and to continue seriously bagging out the bloke is getting very boring and even to the stage quite pathetic. Have a look at our renovated Club today compared to what they inherited in 2009. And there were further improvements planned.

We have a game on Monday which is much more important than this rubbish going on.
We beat the Sharks and we are back in this comp.

If we can stay within teams around 6th and 7th, we need to ensure we finish out games like the Tigers @ ANZ a few weeks back.

See u at the game.

Have a great day everyone.

Back in my uni days we'd call this "puffery".

Good on you for going into bat for him anyway Jodeci.

Water under the bridge. Time to move on methinks.

Clubs financial year is to December I think. Stuart and Edwards left in late 2013.

Yeh I know. I agree. But Sharp's Chairman's report (p.11) explicitly stated that departures he was referring to were in the first half of the 2012/13 financial year. Makes no sense to me.

A member got up and asked the question about why was the payout for employees high, from $700k in 2012 to $2.1mil in 2013.

The CEO said that both Ken Edwards and Ricky took up most of that.

These were later in the year and Ricky's was around Oct.

So Ricky had a get out clause AND he was entitled to a payout ?

Who the f**k would be dumb enough to agree to that ?

I know the FC's financial year runs October - September, and I think the LC's could be the same.

2013: NRL Grant $7.1 mil Profit $3.3 mil
what you have conveniently left off is the $7 million loss was additional money spent to the grant, the tying in of the grant to the profit has no real bearing on each other.
Further more when trying to tie in the TV deal increased grant and your assumption of a loss without the increase you fail to mention anything about the increase in salary cap and associated allowances.

I think Roy decided not to sue Mr Barrett from the SMH cause the article clearly showed no proof or

Interesting he went through the process of getting a member suspended for showing a cartoon of Roy as the puppet master on a web site but decided to do nothing about an published article which questions his whole business integrity.

We are all interested in the facts but please do not try to manipulate them to suit your agenda.

I have no doubt Roy would have taken action against the article that made him look dodgy if he thought it was incorrect.

Salary cap from 2012 to 2013 went up by $700,000

NRL Grant was an extra $2.7mil from the previous year.

That's $2mil extra into our bank account.

The member was never suspended, the entire board seeked an apology and that wasn't too be.

How anybody could support a bloke who made his money through ripping off innocent people is beyond me.

We've been supporting a club full of them for yonks - how they can take our Membership and ticket money in good faith and then dish up on and off-field drivel is beyond me....
