What happened to Erickson Aukafolou. He was getting good wraps at the start of the 2014 season before getting injured. He is part of the 2015 u20 squad but hasn't been seen.

To my knowledge I am not sure if Eric will recover from his leg injury which is a damn shame. He was definitely well regarded.

He also has two talented younger brothers in Dane (SG Ball) and Noel (Harold Matthews) coming through our system as well.

THE experience of playing in front of big crowds has fired up Parramatta Eels junior Josh Curran to chase his NRL dream.

Josh played in front of 35,000 people in the under-16 State of Origin clash, the curtain-raiser to Origin I at ANZ Stadium, and led the NSW Indigenous under-16 side before the NRL Indigenous All Stars game on the Gold Coast.

“It was good to play on a big stadium at such a young age,” the 16-year-old said.

“It was exciting to run out on to ANZ Stadium in front of a big crowd ... and it inspires me to get to NRL level.”

Josh was coached by Danny Buderus in the under-16 Origin game, and the young second-rower and lock also received feedback from Andrew Johns in the lead-up to the game.

“It was great because you knew that they know what they’re talking about, so you listened,” Josh said.

“Andrew told us how physical and fast Origin is and how it is a different game to club football.”

Josh started playing rugby league when he was three years old with the Merrylands Rams and joined the Hills Bulls when he was 11.

He has been part of the Eels Harold Matthews Cup under-16 team for the past two seasons and will try to crack the club’s SG Ball under-18 side next year.

“It was great being part of the team and getting to train and play with them,” Josh said.

“Getting to the grand final was a great experience.

“My time with the Eels has been good as they teach you what you need to do to get to the top level.”

Yep, Travis Turnbull also has indigenous heritage and took to the field against Curran to represent QLD in the same match.

I think he was comfortably the best on field in the Indigenous 16s game while more recently in the Origin U/16s Tui Afualo was the player's player for NSW (was a magnificent effort barring one late error) while Turnbull was the best of the victorious Queenlanders playing from fullback.

Curran had an excellent season for us and was one of the lynch pins in our pack. He shifted between prop, lock and edge backrower depending on what the team needed and excelled through all three roles (although there isn't that much difference between prop and lock).

He has started to fill out his previously rangy frame and plays accordingly by running strongly and defending brutally. He, Jesse Cronin and Tui Afualo practically murdered people this year with their shots in defence.

Another thing on Josh is that he's ready to be on the field whenever the team needs him, fantastic work ethic. This year at a game at St Patty's Blacktown he started the game and seemed to be in everything. He was brought off as he looked to be tiring so he took his headgear off and was about to sit down as one of the staff called out "Josh you're on" assuming that it was him he put his headgear back on and was ready to go back onto the field even though he was clearly gassed but instead it was Josh Delailoa. Was fantastic to see that he was prepared to go back onto the field despite him being stuffed. Good kid with a huge motor and some very strong defence.

Yep my mate reckons Josh is a great prospect. Hope he continues to live up to that potential and plays for us in years to come

Parra's kicking game has been woeful.

Dogs make a break, and on a two on one situation French comes up with an intercept only to be tackled 20 short of the line.
We get a penalty for a high shit.

Raeli (if that's the spelling) scores next to the post.
Needed that before halftime!

Conversion successful.

Dogs 8-6. 35min gone.

Bulldogs try down the wing once again. Had a two on three overlap and the halfback gave a nice cut out ball to the winger 10 out, to go over untouched.

Conversion once again unsuccessful
