Roosters beaten by a patchwork team of 'seconds'. Goes to show they see no benefit in investing at Harold Matthews level. It's not until SG Ball (under 18s) that they bother spending any money - the Roosters have never won a Harold Matts title, but have won SG Ball three times in the past ten years.

Meanwhile we've won 19 Harold Matthews titles in 46 years (including 3 in the last 10 years) but only won 8 SG Ball titles in the same amount of time (and only once in the past 10 years).

Clearly, as they get older you have to start paying them, plus the smarter clubs start poaching them. So there's little benefit in having the 'strong local juniors' every merkin keeps raving about.

Half time in the SG Ball and Parra lead 18-6. We may have lost Johnny Fonua to a broken jaw though.

You're not happy with the young talent in our NRL squad? I've told you before, the 'academy' is not about developing players, it's about retaining them before the market can blow their price out.

But 'academy' sounds better, so it's a smart move.

Actually i think it's a good thing and easily the best thing SK did in his time here.

Yeah I reckon we're probably missing Nolan, though at least the junior recruitment/retention structure seems to still be there. The Wiggle that took over from him is unlikely to have changed much of it.

You do look far too professional with all that equipment mate.

Even with the small rodent sitting ontop of it
