SG Ball defeat the previously undefeated Illawarra, had. 2 shockers losing in the last minute twice earlier, on a good run at the moment

The loss to the Tigers was as much about a horror injury toll as anything else. The loss to the Bears was us just not turning up in the first half.

They smashed us in the trial. I expect them to smash us again. All the teams we've beaten are way down the ladder.

While I think you are ultimately correct in your surmising of the eventual outcome there are a few factors at play here:

1. When we played the Panthers in the trial we were missing both French and Dargan who are as integral to the team as you can get.
2. You can only play what is in front of you. A big part of the reason those teams are down the bottom of the ladder in these early days when only three wins gives you a share of the competition lead is because we beat them.
3. Our only loss to date did come against a good team in the Cowboys but while it is harsh to pin a loss on one player, Mason Cerruto had THAT sort of game. He had a truly dire day at the back and really set the game up for the Cowboys.

With all that said I expect the Panthers to get the win tomorrow, just had to provide some positivity against your rather pessimistic outlook! :p

Cleary up against Dargan....
Considering they rate cleary as a long term NRL prospect it will be good to see how dargan goes up against him.

They won't be up against each other. It will be Cleary up against our defence, aided by the rest of his team mates. Dargan will likewise be helped/hindered by other players on the field.

Hence it's more than possible for an inferior player to 'outplay' a better one.

6-4 to the Panthers at half time. We have dropped a few important balls that probably would have led to tries.

French made a beautiful break just before half time but looks to have been injured. He walked off the field with maybe a dislocated shoulder and he was signalling that he was gone. Don't think we'll see him for a while by the looks of it.

The penrith academy is best in the league. Plenty of teams will be toweled up by them. They have won it 2 of the last 3 seasons. To be competitive against this organization is a credit. Under 20's success means nothing to first grade. Look at the dogs - Rubbish in under 20's for years.

I am more worried about French!
