Zac still has another year to go in 20's and matterson didn't do much in 20's when he was the same age

Most young halves do need that stable structure. As JTE pointed out he still has another year in the NYC so I think we forget that even though he's been in the NYC now for 2 full seasons he came in as a 17 year old. It will be interesting where he starts next year. Given his experience and for him to develop better he probably needs to play NSW cup but given the lack of good halves we have for next year he may start in the NYC, he'll also be a senior player in our NYC team and it wouldn't be ideal if we had our 2-7 all move on in the one year.

I guess we can field two young/inexperienced halves in the NYC next year because our forward pack is going to be pretty darn good.

That Doud fella goes OK, not sure about the spelling of his name but saw him fill in a U/20s game.

He had a very good kicking game.

Daoud is ineligible after this year.

NYC halves options are:

Dockar-Clay
Izzard
Lussick
Markus

all with NYC experience. Inexperienced options are French, Tonga, Vidal and anyone else who graduates from SG Ball.

I have a feeling we'll be putting Izzard and Vidal in the halves together. A few of their deficiencies can be picked up with Markus' ball-playing ability in the middle and if need be Davis is a pretty handy kicker. Bevan French at fullback seems to also be handy with the ball in hand. I think we'll have a good year, maybe not as good as this year but I still reckon Top 8.

Next year we'll have: Fabian Goodall, Eric Newbigging, Mark Daoud, Leva Li, John Folau, Tui Kamicamica, Halauafu Lavaka, Corey Makelim, Ryan Matterson, Fred Junior Mauala, Pauli Pauli, Kelepi Tanginoa, and Kaysa Pritchard all too old next year. I don't think we'll be seeing Tepai Moeroa in the 20's either.

That's a bit higher than average turn-over of players. Nothing we can't handle though.

Most of those guys missed a lot of the season anyway, Matto and the wingers will be our biggest losses.

I think we will cope well in the forwards.

f**ken oath we'll go well in the forwards, merkins.

Of the pack that faced the Warriors in our final game, all of them except Tanginoa and Kamikamica will be backing up next year. Aloiai and Tepu-Smith will be dominant next year.

Then we'll also have Fuimaono for the entire year as well as Twal. We then have Jack Morris, and Tom Amone joining the squad full-time. When Morris played earlier this year I was impressed by him even though it was only one game. Amone will be coming off an Australian schoolboys appearance. Should be a really good forward pack, and that's why I'm confident of us playing two inexperienced halves next year in the NYC.

Don't forget about raeli, he could have a big year to in the forwards. Still only 18 so probably going to develop a far bit physically.

Most sides have inexperienced halves so don't think it will be much of an issue, plus we will have an experienced hooker in Lussick that will help

Heads up merkins. The Jnr Roos vs Jnr Kiwis game is on FoxSports Plus (red button, then select) next Sat at 5:00pm. This means that it will be in SD and you can't IQ it I don't think. NO scheduled replay down the track

Yeah they were the only other team I was worried about.

The Broncos and Warriors are both inferior teams which is why we beat them both twice. Lucky for the Warriors they caught us under strength and pipped us by a couple of points. We were under strength against the Broncos too but still beat them.
in your opinion. i would guess not shared by many.

I stand by it. The best teams are represented over the course of 26 rounds by for-and-against. And ours (and that of the Knights and Roosters) were limited by NYC players forced into first grade.

A bit of good and bad luck in the finals doesn't decide who is the best. It just decides who gets the trophy. The Warriors only beat the Broncos by two points in the grand final. Parra beat them by plenty more and at full strength beat both teams twice through the year.

Do you really think the Bulldogs were the second best team in the NRL this year?
