I stand by it. The best teams are represented over the course of 26 rounds by for-and-against. And ours (and that of the Knights and Roosters) were limited by NYC players forced into first grade.

A bit of good and bad luck in the finals doesn't decide who is the best. It just decides who gets the trophy. The Warriors only beat the Broncos by two points in the grand final. Parra beat them by plenty more and at full strength beat both teams twice through the year.

Do you really think the Bulldogs were the second best team in the NRL this year?

Pou hit the nail on head....
The best team usually have best for and against. In saying that dogs are good at grinding and stopping other teams from playing football. Its not about how good they play its more about slowing the other teams attack to suit there own.As much as the storm where bad for rugby league they still mixed grind with brilliant attacking play. The dogs just do the 5 step shuffle followed by a bomb and good chase-finger crossed for a mistake and repeat.
Would you rather 17 good NYC players who become average first graders like the warriors NYC are producing and winning the comp with a team like this or a team with 1-2 gun players that go on to be very good first graders even thou your under 20's team is average.

The Warriors model vs the (current) Manly model? I dunno. It's nice to see your teams win but when they stop televising the under 20s I'll stop caring about results.

I like Parra's model. We have some very talented players that have come through in recent years and then the ones that will take longer to develop. You can have a player like Tepai Moeroa who debuts at 18, and is looking very likely to be a representative player of the future but then you can also have a Daniel Alvaro who can nicely take up a #5 or #6 prop in depth and if need be capable of playing some first grade games.

Junior development isn't necessarily about producing the best of the best it's about developing players that will make for good squad management. If some happen to be very good at what they do well then that's just a bonus.

The Warriors model is pretty bloody good, they always seem to be producing juniors that play NRL, along with helping other clubs. They always have the ability to sign a decent player or two and never seem to have salary cap issues. Their biggest problem I reckon apart from Cleary they keep on f**king up the appointment of head coach.

Not enough recognition is given to the team who tops the regular season table. It's a whole new competition in the finals and can be decided on who cops less injuries during the last four or five weeks. Often the minor premiers aren't always the major premiers.

He'll be a massive unit if he's anything like his Dad, Herman.

Perhaps if Hayne had let the club know earlier, then Kelepi could have been kept. Mind you with DA involved, anything could happen , i understood he was let go to ensure the club would upgrade and retain Edward, Ma'u and Gower. Now the salary cap is not an issue, thanks Jarryd

That's incorrect. Ask around mate and you will be surprised why he was let go.

Mate, I know DA was involved, so nothing will surprise me

Just so I can add some more stuff to my signature, can you clarify DA's role again, because I'm pretty sure if you read the current one it says DA has nothing to do with recruitment.

Just need to keep up that when we sign someone he isn't involved and when we lose someone he is solely to blame.

Thanks.
