Wollongong region is big enough and growing massively, including Region having one of the biggest developments ever undertaken by a costal town.

Politics is what cost the region

Weird forward pack. Hope that once Aloiai and Markus are back we keep Fuimaono in the forwards. We've got too many middle forwards and not enough edge forwards in this squad.

Sorry boys (and girls) that was an unmitigated disaster. Got to the game 10mins before kickoff but got to my seat (upper concourse) 10min before half time. Stadium staff were hopeless.

Abbas Miski bombs a try as I type that as he loses control of the pill in the left corner trying to beat the fullback. The Dogs quickly turn the ball over and from the following set the Eels nearly score again on the last as Oloapu I believe, knocks the ball on in the fierce contest for Dockar-Clay's grubber.

Another error from the Dogs, this time it may have cost them a try. They make a break via the left edge winger from a line ball pass but with Davis closing in on the winger he has to pass inside and the ball is spilled.

The Eels pick up a penalty on the way out of their half.

The Eels try some outside/inside ball play in the pack on the Canterbury goal line but the ball eventually comes loose in a tackle.

Canterbury scrum, 10m off their goal line with 3min left in the half.

Good read and tackle from Abbas Miski there as the shuts down the sweeping movement from the Dogs.

A moment of madness there from Pene! The Dogs kick was sailing close to the sideline on the full and I'm not sure if it was from inside the 40m...despite that he flies across the field to take it on the full only to slide into touch.

And from the scrum feed the Dogs earn their opening try with a backline move similar to the one that Miski just prevented.

No idea what Pene was thinking there unless it was a genuine 40/20 attempt.

John Fomai was the try scorer there.

The conversion is unsuccessful.

Half Time

Parra 18 lead Canterbury 4

Tui Olaopu, Zach Dockar-Clay, Aaron Pene and Bevan French the try scorers in the half.

From the limited minutes I saw both Bevan French and Alex Twal were playing very well.
