French to Raeli is the option again for the restart.

Kaufusi and Tepu-Smith used next before Fuimaono draws a penalty down the right edge.

Davis finds touch 12m into Manly's half as Tepu-Smith somehow comes up with a third error in the ruck. Tripped over himself playing it there. No real words for it.

Manly hit back quickly though - far too soft. The break comes down our left for once as Davis is completely beaten in the backfield. The offload to Trbojevic looked pretty forwards but the ref was happy and the Manly fullback crosses under the black dot.

The conversion is successful.

Manly take the lead back to 10 points at 26-16

Better set of defence this time around as Manly just make it over halfway on the final tackle. The y bomb Davis who takes it cleanly and nabs something around 12m in return.

Nice offload from Tepu-Smith! He finds Clay who in turns find Davis. Davis turns it back to the man who started the movement in Tepu-Smith. He fires the ball to the left where the Eels look have some numbers! The continue to spread it and Reimis Smith is put into space and he outpaces the cover defence to the try line. Hot potato footy there.

The conversion is successful

Tepu-Smith has pushed out to the right edge, Poups. If he can gold on to the bloody pill he can work some useful stuff.

Twal back on now and the Eels playing a bit more aggressively. Speaking of that man Tepu-Smith he looks for an offload to Davis that would put the massive fullback into space but it is too difficult to bring in for the custodian. Not the right call from TTS I think.

Another quick change of possession now as Tom Trbojevic has a turn at pushing the pass.

Markus and Twal are used to ruck it out with the latter drawing a penalty.

Davis finds touch on the 20m line.

Surging run from Muna on the restart as Raeli powers to within centimeters of the line! Markus nearly does the same on the next play!

Twal gets slow ball next up and is shot on and has to take the tackle. Clay is caught on the penultimate tackle so French has to take the kick. It isn't a bad attempt at a cross field chip but it just doesn't have enough hang time and results in a 20m restart.

Poor defensive set from the Eels though as Manly plunder metres downfield. Eventually their #10 Jessie Maxwell somehow finds himself breakthrough the line and he just breaks through the tackle of Davis to get the ball down for a try.

The conversion is successful.

Oh dear, Davis sends it well too long on the kick off. Penalty at half way for Manly.

Oooh, Manly nearly make it two tries back to back there but the ref finds a forward pass over the final transfer as Parra dodge a huge bullet.

Very basic set for the Eels but they breach the halfway line. Clay bombs Trbojevic who loses sight of the ball in the posts. He gets possession before the chase hits him and just gets into the field of play.

Here is the chance for the Eels now as Manly come up with a cheap turnover. Plenty of them going around today.

Scrum is packed 25m off the goal line. Clay uses Fuimaono and he tramples over one defender as he is riden to the ground after a good run. The Eels spin it to their left where French throws the cut out to Miski. The nuggety winger guns for the line and the home crowd in that corner cheer for the try but the ref finds a knock on over the line I think.

20m restart either way.

The under 20s are bad. Bevan French looks ok but everyone else looks out of their depth.

And with that it looks like Manly will close out the game. No clue whether the Miski call was a dud one but the Sea Eagles take advantage of the extra tackle from the 20m restart and drive downfield where a grubber in behind down our left on the last sees their #4 beat Smith and Miski to the ball.

The conversion is successful.

They are a well better team than this based on what I've seen in the trials but gee they have played poorly today. Can't defend them.

Penalty for the visitors now. First in a while I think. They resume play on halfway.

The attack our left edge and make a half break but are quickly reigned in before too much damage is done. The goal line defence is solid this time around but Manly find space yet again with the grubber. This one wasn't even weaved in behind from my angle as the 5/8 angled it back inside to Trbojevic who showed lovely hands to scoop it up before the line and score.

Plenty to work in for next week for sure.

The conversion is successful

Been here since half time, they are either having a bad day or are poorly coached. Defensively they are awful, no shape and no line speed

Guess we can ask questions about employing a part time coach, they look a rabble

This play of putting in a grubber behind the line appears to be a major defensive concern throughout our club. The trial versus Wests enforced this as a major issue in the firsts. I really hope they have addressed this issue in the NRL Team.

Plenty of scoots and short runners for Manly now as they ruck it out. Their halfback drives the ball along the ground on the last and Davis grabs it in his red zone. Twal has a good run and offload before Tom Amone is sent into space on the same play and surges down field. ZDC screams for the ball down the left from the quick Amone's quick ruckwork and fires it to Smith who powers over out wide.

The conversion is unsuccessful

French to Twal on this restart.

The Eels come up with a fresh count as Izzard's ball clips an opposition hand.

Amone is on the right edge surprisingly and just holds onto the pill from a Clay short ball.

The kick on the last is poor, think that came from French and it is taken deep in goals with out any contest.
