Short kick off is successful but we f**king drop it on the next play as Paulo gets an ordinary pass.

f**k me dead.

Doctor is hopeful that Masinamua has a lateral ligament strain.

We have thrown away another game here folks.

Huge kick here for Brasington, who set Moeakiola up.

Cronulla are playing a desperation challenge here.

Really nice efforts from Sam Gorman and Pauli Pauli today. Ualesi also deserves a mention for his engine and strong carries.

In the end Brasington's golden boot saved us a smaller amount of blushes but Coach Webster will be filthy that we threw away another 2 points.

Hopefully Masinuamua will bounce back from his knee injury (fingers crossed). There were also concerns for Gorman and Pritchard during the game but they were able to complete the game.

Even more so than Wenty (believe it or not), stupid, dumb, outright piss-weak mistakes and penalties have cost us massively. There is a good team buried underneath the bullshit but it remains to be seen if it will emerge this year.

Round 5: NYC Match Report
Ralph Tucker
Saturday 6 April 2013 5:30 PM

The Pirtek Parramatta Eels have produced a spirited last ditch effort to snatch a 30-all draw against the Cronulla Sharks in an action packed Holden Cup encounter at Parramatta Stadium.

Parramatta five-eighth Mitchell Brasington showed nerves of steal to land a sidleline conversion after the siren to ensure the Eels shared the points with the Sharks in a see-sawing NYC contest.

The young Eels started in cracking style when FJ Maulala managed to find his way across the try-line from a well crafted kick. Brasington added the extras for a 6-nil lead.

It didn't take long for the Sharks to bounce back and looked in control following a couple of converted tries to talented youngsters Michael Lichaa and Crete Waaka.

Parramatta five-eighth Sam Gorman produced a superb individual try just moments later to get the Eels back level, until the Cronulla side crossed late in the half to lead 18-12 at the break.

Another smart individual kick-chase try from Gorman again saw the scores level at 18 apiece. Eels lock Joesph Ualesi then crashed over the line to give Parramatta the lead for the first time since the early minutes of the match.

It was short lived as the Cronulla side regained the ascendency 30-24 with two tries to power forwards, Tokerau Raru and Sione Masima, which was thanks in the main to some poor ball control by the Eels.
Just when all seemed lost, and with the clock ticking down, Takai Moeakiola finished off a superb backline movement in the corner, to set up the stage for Brasington's sensational conversion.

The result is sure to give Andrew Webster's team plenty of confidence heading into next Sunday's clash against the Titans on the Gold Coast.

Parramatta Eels 30 (Sam Gorman 2, FJ Mauala, Joesph Ualesi, Takai Moeakiola tries; Mitchell Brasington 5 goals)

Cronulla Sharks 30 (Michael Lichaa, Crete Waaka, Taylar Garrett, Tokerau Raru, Sione Massima tries; Taylar Garrett 5 goals)

When we lead 24-18 we blocked a kick on our quarter and the front rower picked it up an handed to the halfback, he had the very quick winger alongside him but chose to try and score himself, he was bundled into touch about 5 metres out. If he had given the ball to the winger it was a try under the posts and we win easily from there. Outside of this error however the halfback had a good game.

The 20's played well but they serioulsy lack some decent centres. Broadhurst and Izzy Jnr are looking out of their depth in this grade.

Otherwise I'm loving how Pauli is developing. Ditto 1/2 Zack and the fullback will be some footballer when he grows a body.

BTW you can't criticize Docker-Clay from not running the ball. In fact I think he goes himself too often.

Pritchard tooks on the small side and wow Vescio (sp) is a fair dinkum jockey. I've marked him too small for NRL. Sorry Luke.

Gorman the 5/8 went alright also I think read some where our half back has also played a bit of hooker in lower grades - if correct in a year or two we may have a few more options for hooker.

Ah yes, I forgot about the ranga No.6. He looks a gun. Imagine finding a kid like that playing park footy and never played jnr reps etc. Happy for him.
