PARRAMATTA Eels juniors Pauli Pauli, Chad McGill and Kelepi Tanginoa played a pivotal role in the Australian Schoolboys two-Test series romp against the English Academy. After winning the first Test in Canberra 41-10 last week, the second Test was much the same with green and gold running out winners 40-14 at Wynnum-Manly.
All three are members of the Eels Toyota Cup team and part of the Eels Academy.
McGill (lock) and Tanginoa (second row) started both games and were dominant on the edges of the ruck.
Pauli (second row) made his impact felt went he entered the game with several strong charges and crossed for a try in the second game.
"From all reports Kelepi Tanginoa was a class above and dominated with his charges and Pauli Pauli and Chad McGill also had good games which is a good sign," Eels Toyota Cup coach Steve Speechley said.
The trio follow an illustrious list of Australian Schoolboy alumni including Tim Mannah (Christian Community High School), Cheyse Blair (Tweed River High School), Ben Roberts (Patrician Brothers Fairfield) and Nathan Cayless (Parramatta Marist).
The trio will return to the Eels Toyota Cup team for this week's clash with the Gold Coast Titans.
Looks like Steven Kearneys Academy of Football is on fire!
So long as Ricky retains Nolan and his recruitment team I think our future is looking good. I know Nolan was in QLD watching the second test to see what was on display and I am keen to know if he saw any promising Pommy juniors that might like to live in sunny Australia next to the beautiful Parramatta River.![]()
Every other bloody 18 year old pommy wants to be in Australia, so why the footballers as well. Lets just hope they aren't all Chris Thormans.
Hopefully Nolan got in the ear of the next Burgess or Tomkins.
